Dr Andrew Seaton, Leverhulme Early Career Fellow in History, joins Professor Philip Schofield to discuss how coal never truly disappeared but evolved in form and influence. From Britain's re-importation of coal to global surges in consumption, Dr Seaton challenges the idea of a clean energy transition, and uncovers coal’s deep ties to industry, health, inequality, and the climate.

EARING VOICES INFO RELEASE
“Earing Voices” a Techno EP composed between Nancy and Detroit, where Medulla Oblongata stopped off
in the summer of 2025 to explore the roots of techno, where he met Mad Mike and the Underground Resistance label.
This trip was the subject of various human and unexpectedly psychedelic experiences. Medulla Oblongata tried to convey
the strangeness of these experiences, from the waking dream of discussing politics and music with a techno legend to the
cultural shift of Trump’s America and a return flight rich in sensory experiences. The EP features a remix by Concrete
Records label owner Phooka, who takes Medulla’s sound to even more introspective depths and continues the journey into
the inner self.

Beginning in 2010, Flannelette were well on there way to rock star greatest when tragedy struck. Vowing to never give up on their dreams, new members were found and by 2012, Flannelette exploded back onto the music scene in spectacular fashion, achieving no. 2 on 4ZZZ’s Hot 100 in only their first year together. After headlining Brisbane’s ‘Hi-Fi’ for their first show in February 2012, Flannelette then set out to take over Australia’s east coast by gigging almost every weekend. 2013, saw new bass player Jaymes Farr join Matt Campbell, vocals/guitar, Shaun Belcher, guitar, and Gordon Patterson on drums. The new line up became quickly like a family and
Flannelette jumped straight into regular gigs and tours again. In July 2013, they took the trek up to Mt Nebo to record with Neil at The White Room. The result of this is found on their EP Valley Nights, which was released in May 2014 to great review. Keep an eye out for Flannelette when they come to take over a town near you soon.
