Back To Home is the title track of the new EP. I wrote this song with my buddy Tim Myers. We had such an amazing time writing Who We Are, we insisted getting together again. I remember this writing session like it was yesterday. We were stuck, for hours. Sometimes, you're just trying to hard. You can't get the words out, your thinking to much, I remember sitting in this big cozy velvety chair that Tim had in his studio. I was just trying to sit every which way on this chair. Legs off to the side, indian style... I kept thinking maybe if I change my posture the song will come. So ridiculous...At some point the song started to bud. I wanted to write another song like Open Up Your Eyes. I think after making Cedar + Gold, I was exhausted. I couldn't bring myself to write about anymore heartbreak, or even love for that matter. I had just done a show with TWLOHA and I had this idea of hope. And how life is just a series of roads, but they always bring us back to home. Everything is always meant to be just as its supposed to be. Thats always been my mantra. Even when it gets hard, or rough, or you get down in the dumps, all the roads lead us back to home. Tim threw out this line, "architects of light" and I loved the visual of that. I took it to mean we can always manifest, maneuver and shine our light how we want to at any given time.
