Learning to fly

Late night shadows danced on the wall,
Chased dreams, all gone, can’t recall,
Poured another drink, let the darkness in,
But every sip just wraped me tighter in.

Lost in the mirror, staring at a ghost,
Thought I'd find my truth, Oh such a joke.
But the laughter faded and the tears started to flow,
Why don't break free from the prison walls?

Cause every bottle was like a punch to my soul,
Tried to feel alive, but I’m just losed control,
Chased moments, thought I was a king,
But that liquid prison did'nt give me a thing.

I thought I could fly, I thought I could see,
But that ol' poison was a bad dream to me,
Oh, it hit me so hard, almost made me insane,
If that's freedom, Who needs such anyway.

I had a smile, but it faded fast,
Each blurry memory drowned in the glass.
Woke up to silence, just a heart full of scars,
Searced the reason beneath all blurry stars.

They said love can save you, but I was stuck on the floor,
Had an empire of empty bottles I’d laid down in a row.
But suddenly one morning I saw a shining light,
Had been dancing in the shadows, an endless fight.

The lies I chased, they whisped sweet and low,
But I wanted something more, just see something grow.
Said godbye to the bottles, and the truth came through,
No more hiding in the shadows, said godbye to the blues.

I got my the scars, from the battles I've been fight,
But I found a freedom, turned my back to the night,
Listened to an inner voice, and stepped into the light.
I’m learning to fly, Yeah that's right.
