Now in its 200th instalment, this Podcast has given voice to a diverse offering of global talents across the musical spectrum, from the democratic rhythms of zeitgeist appropriate techno and house through to more avant-garde synthwork.

This next guest has cast a large shadow over the technosphere, so large in fact, that no introduction could fully encompass the breadth of his achievements. But in brief: Ben Klock is a titan whose formative years were spent playing marathon mixes to the crowds at Berlin’s (then recently opened) Berghain. Off the back of his endurance sets and the club’s success he became a household name whose influence grew to be felt across the world, with a body of work that includes appearances at an exhaustive list of clubs and festivals, a number of hot releases on Ostgut Ton and an equally respected self-run label (Klockworks) to boot. On this second imprint, his own productions have repeatedly seen the light of day, alongside those from the likes of DVS1, Sterac, Stef Mendesidis and younger talents like Temudo and Vil & Cravo. The sound, ubiquitous as it is, will be familiar to anyone involved in the world of electronic music and there’s good reason for that: Klock’s deep and percussive work and ability to pull from a wide range of influences have earmarked him as a unique agent for the techno cause. Atmospheric and delivered with hammering force, Klock’s refined palette for rhythms is as relevant now as ever. ANNĒ & SERA J return for the second edition of their Symbiosis series on Mutual Rytm.

ANNĒ, known for potent techno on the likes of Soma and Hardgroove, and Nechto and Life In Patterns associate Sera J, have had standout years that have seen them put out a stream of essential club tracks. They are partners in both life and music, and the first volume of ‘Symbiosis’ on SHDW's Mutual Rytm imprint was their first release together. Delivering an honest representation of their innermost feelings, having also contributed to the label's ‘Federation Of Rytm III’ VA in February, this new six-track EP (plus bonus cuts) presents a ‘mature and refined connection between their souls’.

The second instalment of 'Symbiosis' reflects not only their deep personal connection, but also their collaborative synergy as musical peers with the same goals. The EP captures the essence of their mutual artistic journey and showcases the strength of their bond both in life and through their shared creative vision - to create a storyline through sounds coming from their souls and convey a narrative that many listeners may find relatable.

SERA J kicks off with the lithe and ally elegant techno of ‘Your Soul Is Art’ which will have both heart and heels dancing. ‘Illusions’ is a more heavy and dubby cut with paired back grooves and pulsing synths, while ‘Glacial Pace’ is an urgent deep techno roller with turbocharged stabs and huge icy hi hats locking you into a trance.

ANNĒ steps up on the B-side with ‘Floating Waves’ exploring physical, chunky drum funk and raw synth textures. ‘Planetary Dust’ is a dark and moody astral techno journey to the stars, before ‘Sweet Seventeen’ brings a more melodic cut with a sense of hope and joy in the bright pads that shimmer above the glitchy grooves.

Both artists also offer two digital bonus cuts with SERA J's ‘Syncrosonix’ and ‘Space Velocity’ delivering perfectly reduced minimal techno monsters, while ANNĒ’s ‘Gentle Loop’ and ‘Starburst’ are interplanetary trips with widescreen cosmic synths.

This is Simo Lorenz. A commanding, precise and painstaking work on his drum machines, controllers and mixing desk is what distinguishes him: each flick of the wrist fits. His own independent technoid utopia. A fan once aptly described it as „Balls to the wall hammer bass with that into the void hypnosis stuff on top of it“.

As a founding member of prestigious booking agency Blakksheep he is a weighty member of the international Techno scene, touring through selected clubs in major cities around the world (Barcelona, London, Mexico City, Berlin, Stockholm, Vienna, Amsterdam, Paris and many more) as well as being a regular at festivals like SEMF,
Amsterdam Dance Event, Rave on Snow or Nature One. His residencies include Lehmann Club in Stuttgart, Germany as well as legendary Bar Americas in Guadalajara, Mexico.

As a producer he established himself on internationally renowned labels like Nachtstrom Schallplatten while 2017 an own 12-inch will be released on Concepts Of Time. Remixes of his works have been done by the likes of Flug or Luis Flores - also there are a few further collaborations with notable artists in the works.
