About Matthias (Tonetex)
Tonetex represents an uncompromising, technoid sound influenced by the raw textures of industrial and the analog aesthetics of the early era. Dedicated to underground techno since 1999, his style is direct, rhythmic, and intense—a pure distillation of the musical essence he has refined over two decades.

Musical Journey and Style
His musical career began in 1999 in Thuringia, Germany, as a hobby DJ with a deep passion for vinyl. His regular forays into record stores laid the foundation for his extensive sound library and his deep understanding of the culture.

Behind the decks, he always pushed dark, driving techno. Nevertheless, his musical openness was evident in the occasional integration of house and drum & bass into his sets. Driven by the DIY mentality of the scene, he organized and hosted small parties of his own with friends. These early experiences shaped his uncompromising attitude toward techno. Over time, he switched to timecode vinyl, bridging the gap between the warmth and tactile feel of the analog format and the precision of digital control.

Production and Sound
The desire to produce his own sound was present from an early age. This became a reality during the coronavirus pandemic: With the support of the platform Sinee, he began creating his own tracks. Although his initial productions weren't genre-specific, he quickly found his sonic home. Today, he is primarily rooted in techno and atmospheric dub techno, where he can best develop his dark and profound aesthetic.

StumpiTechno ist ein junger DJ aus Nürnberg, der für seinen energiegeladenen Techno bekannt ist. Er wurde 1997 in der fränkischen Stadt geboren und wuchs mit Techno auf.

Dark Wave, Gothic, Folk, Punk, and Metal have influenced me just as much as Techno has for over 20 years now.

I gravitate toward straight-forward Techno: Hypnotic, Raw, Classic, all the way to trippy Afterhour sounds.

I always try to work on myself to get better and this is just the beginning, it‘s full of passion and joy doing it and share with other people who feel a bit like me.
