Slam bring light to their Paragraph imprint with the floor-shattering 'Cadence' release. 

'Cadence' is as tough and as noisy as you'll find Slam today. Sitting on the outskirts of Techno, the Glaswegian pair push the envelope of their style and production, utilising a grit they have worked on for over twenty years.

The deeper of the two tracks ,'Remain', still packs a punch. While preserving the rumbling low-end that binds 'Cadence' together, 'Remain' bears a fathomless form that allows that dizzying, cosmos moment in longer sets. 

This powerful two tracker from Slam is a welcome return for Paragraph.

In the year 1991 when the techno development was becoming a monster wave there was one record on R&S Records which became a game changer in my life.

I´m writing about "Energy flash" by a young producer from Brooklyn called Joey Beltram! I still get goose bumps when I even think about the night when I heard the track for the first time ever at Mayday in Berlin Weissensee.

Everybody was there, from Sven Väth to Frank de Wulf, from Speedy J to The Hypnotist (god bless you, Caspar). So you can imagine how happy I am now that Joey remixed "The overture" and yesss, again he made a monster tune. Thanx to Christian Smith for realizing this project...

The time has come again to welcome two new faces to the Second State gang. Introducing two of Russia’s biggest exports and House elite, Julia Govor and Tripmastaz. Between Julia Govor’s recent meteoric rise and TMZ's (the fresh alias for the more techno leaning output of Tripmastaz) long discography of avant-garde clubland hits, the pairing of the two are a match made in heaven. Over the course of three tracks the pair craft an expertly woven tapestry of hefty sonics resulting in their debut collaboration, ‘The Probability’ EP. 

From the start, the aptly titled ‘1-’ kicks off with an enormous breakbeat kick and distant reverb heavy percussion forging a shimmering atmosphere as energetic hi-hats and swirling tones crescendo into a deep yet celestial fervor. 

‘Plus Two’ sees the pair spawn their heaviest tune of the bunch as rolling low end and trippy, churning synths give way to a barrage of energetic claps and racing ride cymbals sure to make any dancefloor explode. 

Wrapping up the EP is ‘Equals Tree’ where ethereal tones and flickers of delicate acoustics defy a monotonous yet robust groove culminating in a beautiful display of opposing forces. 

We couldn’t be happier with the outcome of this stunning EP and we know you will revel in it for a long time to come.

Figure 86 finds the label‘s headmaster revisiting a dormant classic from 2005, delivering two extended excursions that pick up on the lunatic vibe instilled by the original while each mix provides for a uniquely new experience.

Sitting on the record‘s A-side is the Hardspace Mix, a sparse and bone dry rhythmic affair, built around the originals characteristic cut-up vocal sample. A hammering thump carries along the track relentlessly, the air of oppression created only amplified by a heavy assault of clangig claps. The digital bundle comes with an even more stripped-back Hardspace Tool version, making it an excellent surprise to throw in and out of mixes.

On the flip Faki takes opportunity to show us one of his lesser known sides, taking time to gently develop this Deepspace Mix into a meandering meditative journey. Trading in the vocal for a spaced-out synth opens the track up for the shifting tribal drums to truly work their magic and makes this piece of music feel equally mysterious as it sways with cosmic energy.
