Beautiful Place is the melodic and dark track that picks up nicely from Olivier Giacomotto's recent success “Bipolar Star”. Reckless is pure club heaven with its straight up and relentless groove. Classic floor functional stuff to keep the dancefloor's burning.

Carl Cox is an industry figurehead whos legacy in music includes his iconic label Intec, which he runs with friend and business partner Jon Rundell, and the new release is from Jason Fernandes. UK based Jason Fernandes returns to Intec for his third EP on the imprint, and further solidifies his position as a core member of the label's family of artists. With an impressive back catalogue, Jason Fernandes has also featured music on Hans Bouffmyhre's Sleaze, Sasha Carassi's Phobiq, and his own label Subfigure. Along with many solo productions, Jason has also collaborated with heavyweight producers such as The Advent for releases on labels such as Drumcode and H-Productions. A popular DJ playing gigs all over Europe and further afield, his tracks are often supported by other club spinners such as Adam Beyer, Chris Liebing and Slam. 

Heath kick starts the EP with a blend of spacious production, atmospheric textures, and spooky vocals. Deep and eerie, there is a compelling mood to the track which adds to its overall sense of suspense. Its tough percussion and purposeful structure are slow building, but with everything combined this is a captivating cut of dark techno. 

Royal Free is the second track and compared to the first cut it has a more up tempo groove with a warehouse party vibe. The rave influenced synths and vocal stabs are layered with snare rolls and bass drops that give the track a hands in the air energy, and implementing a subtle tech house influence to give it some genre crossover appeal.

Forging recent sounds together with long-lost tracks from the '90s, Faki dishes out an EP full with favorites, his dubby takes on them sure to cause a fever on the floors.

Starting things off by honing two old-school tunes, the first one a fast hardware-jam, which gets its lead synths toned down for a fresh perspective. Then a classic blueprint for dub-techno now brought back for a lively and dynamic interpretation.

Taking to novel releases, Sound & Sequences' reverb-heavy journey into dub is amped with percussive forces, granting it an additional drive without sacrificing any of the meditative qualities of the original. With trance missing in the mix, NTHNG comes to deliver, and Faki returns the track as a deeply soothing version ripe with cosmic energies.

The proceeds of this record will be forwarded entirely to charity organization Straßenkinder e.V., who are working to offer help to the children living on the streets of Berlin.

Alan Fitzpatrick returns to Radio Slave’s Rekids with the ‘Immortal Daydream’ in January.

Following 2020’s ‘Step Away’ on Rekids, as well as multiple releases on heavy-duty labels such as Drumcode, Hotflush, and of course his own We Are The Brave, Alan Fitzpatrick returns in full techno mode for his second appearance on the imprint in 2021 with an EP of crushing, hypnotic, and uncompromising techno.

Classic 909 kits and spacey reverberations take front and centre across the record, neatly displayed on lead track ‘Everlasting’, which kicks off proceedings by rumbling through a series of sizzling effects and dubbed-out chords. ‘Titan Silence’ follows with reserved synths built delicately around thunderous and attention- grabbing drums; a track built for dark cavernous rooms.

On the flip, ‘Droid Disco’ sees the Southampton powerhouse look to the twilight hours, as off-kilter synths wriggle and evolve throughout, leading into the closing track ‘The Underdog’, which sees Fitzpatrick delve further into the night, combining crunchy drums with soft, elegant synthesis to close off a memorable 12” on a quintessential label.
