After their previous synthwave influenced release, “Turbo Lover”, Italove is back on its roots with a new track “Chasing Ghosts”. The song has the essence of Italove productions; bright and memorable synth riff, simple but strong verse & bridge that leads the song to a very catchy and uplifting chorus and all this frosted with some “oo-oo-o” backing choirs. What else could Italove fans wish for?

The vinyl has three different mixes of the main track; Extended, modern Soundfactory Paradise Mix and 80s Italo mix by Electro Potato. On the B-side you can also find an instrumental track “L’Orient” with heavy connection to the 80s Italo spacesynth tracks.

Beyond The Struttosphere is a new collaboration between Leo Strutt (Strutt Bros DJs) and Ben Chetwood (Flying Mojito Bros, Damian Lazarus’s Ancient Moons) aimed at channelling their considerable musical production experience and boundless love of cosmic dark disco. Their first track, New Frontier (Directors Cut), was self-released late in 2019 and is a slow-burning chug through the cosmos, littered with spacey vintage synth motifs and crunchy power chords. It found much acclaim among Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnson’s A Love From Outer Space online fraternity, and was featured in The Juan Mclean’s (DFA Records) recent contribution to Tim Sweeney’s Beats In Space mix series. The original is given a makeover by K-Effect, a stalwart of the dark disco scene. His take meanders down a progressive cosmic wormhole with driving basslines and trippy synth riffs that drive the tune to its spaced-out finale. 

Rolling Thunder, a faster, more forthright dancefloor-orientated affair that means business. Complete with gnarly arpeggiator riffs, swirling psychedelic delay lines, a trippy vocal sample borrowed from Platoon, and their now trademark driven guitar power chords. The title track has been given the remix treatment by two aficionados of the scene, firstly the Mexican dark disco wizard Mufti turns up the heat, beefs up the bass, and dials the chug up to 11 to deliver a solid dancefloor destroyer. Cosmic disco legend James Rod delivers a second remix that strips the track right back to its core elements resulting in a minimal slow burner filled with dirty analogue electronics that builds up like a pressure cooker as the track progresses towards its conclusion. The EP finishes with a third remix by the Gouranga Clan, which reimagines the track as a driving interstellar trip that is sure to spin out a few right-minded partygoers!

"Oneway - Summer Is Here" has been created for the Italo Disco Festival - Flashback 20th Anniversary event. The idea was to have an Italo summer anthem that would also be the theme song of the party. Flashback boss, Kimmo Salo asked Dr. Mateo to think of something that would fit for the purpose, something catchy with summer feeling and easy sing-along chorus... and Dr. Mateo indeed did what he was asked for.
The "Oneway" trio was together again when Sandor "Electro Potato" Mate did the finalizing and came up with two different extended mixes.

I gave this great classic disco song a revamp with some added vocals and mean no disrespect to the original masterpiece. Santa Esmeralda is an American-French-Spanish disco group formed in the 1970s; perhaps best known for their hit disco remakes of the 1960s hits "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" and "House of the Rising Sun". The group featured original lead singer Leroy Gómez in 1977-1978 . The song became a sudden success in Europe, the record was then  picked up for worldwide distribution by Casablanca Records.
