Kicking off a brand new release series titled ‘GUILTY PLEASURES REDEFINED’, soulful house selector Charles Vaughan follows up his debut release on The Disco Express with deep grooving NYC inspired remix of Beyoncé’s classic pop anthem ‘Deja Vu’.

‘GUILTY PLEASURES REDEFINED’ is a new series formed out of Charles’ new-found love of serotonin-fueled pop jams that was born out of the bleak outlook brought on by COVID. Charles sought to take these glimpses of transcendental euphoria and repackage them for his own nightclub havens that were, at that time, still a distant memory.

This remix in particular takes heavy influence from the NYC house & disco icons; Masters At Work, Frankie Knuckles and David Morales. With Beyoncé’s vocals cementing a deeply soulful foundation, Charles set about forging a new groove with vibrations more in tune with the dirty basement discos of South London. The result is spectacular - Beyoncé’s raucous lust anthem injected with 30Cc’s of no-nonsense jacking groove.

Garage aficionado @toddedwards3000 takes on monster remix duties this month with his next track on @strictlyrhythm - a pumped up rework of the '93 house classic from @little-louie-vega (Hardrive), 'Deep Inside'.

"Masters At Work have been one of the biggest inspirations for my music. So, it was an honour for me to be able to remix “Little” Louie Vega’s classic," Edwards said of his next release. "For the remix I made sure that the music was nothing short of positive vibes and also a nod to MAW’s tribal drums style.”

Paolo Aniello FKA New Digital Fidelity returns one final time since his last appearance on Italian Synth Planetarium – Sistema 1 in 2020 and readies some serious and sexy goodness for 2023.

“Gonna Touch The Sky” marks his debut on Moods & Grooves and there is no doubt that it will literally make you touch the sky! The EP opens with the reshape from none other than deep house legend Fred P. When it come to (ultra) deep house beautiness, Fred is the real don. Melodic, dreamy and groovy. Simply what you would expect from him and what he does best.

To follow is the original mix, awash in syncopated tribal rhythms, gorgeous female vocals and a rich tapestry of ethereal pad. “Gonna Touch The Sky” is a dancefloor-pleasing Afro house cut à-la Ron Trent/Trinidadian Deep featuring Sasha Paige on lead vocal and Rhia Reneè on background vocals that bubble over a deep, tribal groove.

On the flip, “Make Up Your Mind” takes tribal rhythms to a new, more mental level. It’s an Afro-Chi-meets-Detroit affair. The percussive rhythms and energy that constantly interplays with the synth line create an uplifting basement tune that could safely run at opening, peak time, or closing time. Last but not least, “Horizon” speaks for itself. It will definitely transport you to new horizons, toward a tropical beach at sunset, closing this incredible journey.

Monty Hasan is an Indonesian-American entrepreneur, music producer and DJ. He is currently based in Jakarta and co-founded Bebop: Bar + Kitchen in December 2022. As Music Director, he oversaw the bar as the new hotspot for soulful, dynamic, underground music in Senopati.

Since 2015, Monty has been an avid member of the Jakarta and Bali music scenes. He regularly performs his signature sound, which he calls “The Booty Groove” – a unique blend of house, jazz, latin, disco, and soul; it's distinctly heard across his setlists and music productions.

Raised internationally between multiple countries, Monty believes in the power of fusion and building bridges. In this next chapter of his career, he plans to highlight Jakarta on the international underground music circuit, hosting guest artists and promoting Indonesian talent to the world.
