Some of them you can typically hear when he plays, others he just enjoys listening to in his private time. For René each track tells a story, and he loves to spread them where ever he goes in the world, it be in the clubs, or at festivals. During my circumnavigation of the globe as a Circumnavigator Club Foundation Scholar in the summer of 2011, I spent two weeks in Japan and visited the University of Tokyo Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST), the Tokyo Institute of Technology, the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), the Toyota Technological Institute and Sharp Corporation in order to learn about photovoltaic policy, markets and research in Japan.

Everywhere I went, I traveled by train. Inspired by the sight of city lights and rural villages speeding by outside my window, I made this beat in Logic.

This is the first Collaboration from the brothers, digging down to their indian roots while applying Dub and Jungle to the mix, creating a hybrid cross of different musical strains!
Atmospheric elements within the mix were recorded by Harish while out in india, some of which can be downloaded for free from his soundcloud and used within your own works. If you do use them please do not hesitate to link them to your creations!

Life In Color Mix

I recorded this track on my iPad using Garageband for iOS.

First, I recorded the piano with chords in the left hand and melody in the right. Then, I recorded the half note piano bass line. Next was the piano chords sans melody for use in the vocal and solo sections. Pulling out my horn, I recorded the melody with harmon mute and then without. With the first chorus' recorded parts complete, I moved on to the second chorus and sang the melody. Then, I recorded a few choruses of solos and chose my favorite. After transferring over the file to my laptop, I added drum loops and tweaked the mix, adjusting effects, panning and volumes before bouncing it down.

A short expedition into the much overlooked tipica cumbia sound of Panamá

The heartache, melancholy and joy in the Panamá Tipica sound is hard to match and like no other to experience. It comes from a rich background of regional musical traditions, carnival rivalry and hotbeds like the legendary 'Festival en Guarare'. As I understand it, Panamanian cumbia was first played on violin until the arrival of accordions on the Isthmus, most early acordeoneros were violinists first and foremost. This mixtape comprises of some of the best 45s from the Herrera and Los Santos provinces, from the mid 50s through to late 60s. Over the last few years I've had the good fortune to meet several of these wonderful artists. Featured here: Dorindo, Papi Brandao, Oswaldo,Fito Espina, Ulpiano, Ceferino and more... (photo compliments of Papi Brandao). Viva Panamá!

Whilst sat on a plane to Australia last year Goldie immediately fired off the following comments to Fracture himself to express his overwhelming approval of the Music ....
 "Im pulling out my teeth wanting to beat the guy next to me with a Snare and 10" dubplate !!!! This is one of the most original things I've heard in a long while! I HAVE to have this on Headz!!"
