PREMIERE: SMTHNG SMTIME - Bad Braids (DJ Raff Remix) [Feedasoul Records]

Brussels-based producer, multi-instrumentalist and DJ Kuna Maze announces his debut album ‘Night Shift’ - a concept record built around the journey into the night - with new track “I Told U”; featuring legend in the scene and creative polymath Steve Spacek, who adds his ghostly vocals to the lead single. 

“I Told U” is a deep, dark and dreamy track that uses syncopated drums, heavy bass lines and floating vocals accentuated via dub FX. London-born but now based in Sydney, Australia, Steve White is a pioneer of electronic soul music; from his earliest incarnations in Stex in the early 90s to the present day as Steve Spacek, he has pushed boundaries with aesthetics and technology. He has released music with the most forward-thinking labels across the musical spectrum – SPA, Eglo, Ninja Tune, Warp, K7, Island Universal, Black Focus and Exit Records. “He’s a real legend and a massive influence for me and my work; it’s a real honour to have him on the LP”, Kuna Maze adds.

New Digital Fidelity has been making sweet moves recently with a debut on the lauded Moods & Grovers label out of Detroit followed up by a single on his own Scopic Records. Now he brings his class to Crush On The Beachside and again shows off his love of Detroit house vibes. Opener 'Crush On The Beachside' is raw and intense with humid chords and jacked-up drums, then 'Shattered' brings more loose and jumbled beatdown grooves and 'Crush On The Beachside' (K15 remix) is then bubbly, jazzy and cuddly. 'Cracking' rounds out with more rich chord work and bristling drum funk.
