This remix has been a special one for us. We came up with the concept and created it entirely on the road during the Canadian Ghetto Funk tour last spring. While squished together in the back seat of a small car winding through the Rocky Mountains and powering three laptops off one inverter, we found just enough elbow room to combine our skills and mash out this extremely catchy tune straight from the late 90s summer charts! It quickly became a staple set-closer for many JPOD and Funk Hunters sets and it's been a real treat to sing along with you at the end of the night whenever this gets dropped. We've received a great deal of requests for this remix, so we're happy to finally let this one loose as a Thank You gift for all the amazing support this past year!

Originally released in 1979, "Dreamin’ Wild" is the sonic vision of the talented Emerson boys, recorded in a family built home studio in rural Washington State. Situated in the unlikely blink-and-you-missed-it town of Fruitland and far removed from the late 1970s punk movement and the larger disco boom, Donnie and Joe tilled their own musical soil, channeling bedroom pop jams, raw funk, and yacht rock.

Unlike many however, the Emersons' father, Don Sr., was willing to plunk down $100,000 earned in the lumber industry to build his sons a home studio where they recorded their only album, Dreamin' Wild, in 1979. They had no real plan, certainly no distribution. Instead, they sat on a stockpile of the LPs save for the occasional copy that made its way out into the wild."
