Welcome to my soundcloud page!  I am a composer, producer and sound designer currently based in Manchester. Over the last two years, I’ve been mostly interested in making immersive electronic music and bringing within an EDM/electronica context other stylistic influences, such as electroacoustic, classical and more recently folk music. In September 2014 I successfully completed my master’s degree on Electronic and Electroacoustic Composition at the University of Huddersfield and I am also a member of Edges Ensemble, the university’s experimental music ensemble. Since September 2013 I have been co-composing and co-producing an electronic folk EP with Samh (https://soundcloud.com/samhsong), which will be released in November 2014. Enjoy!

Mixing a vast array of styles which can range anywhere between Electro/Rap/Reggae/Punk/Dance, PJ Higgins personifies the synthesis of multicultural Britain and continually draws stimulus from the sounds around her. Effortlessly transgressing from one genre to the next with unequivocal authenticity she sees music as a device in WHICH to unify, not segregate.

Eclectic by nature, she considers the ability to bounce between genres an asset and not a hindrance, always adding a touch of differentiation to what would otherwise be ordinary. Queen of lyrical subversion, PJ is never shy of creating 'food for thought’, be it with a satirical undercurrent or delivering subliminal enlightenment to the listener.
