Fortsetzung deep story 156

Wir gehen zusammen die prachtvolle Allee entlang, welche kerzengerade auf die Zentrale zuläuft. Der Fremde stellt sich als Toben vor, aber alle nennen ihr nur „Lighter“, da er auf Raves immer genügend Feuerzeuge dabeihat, um in Notsituationen auszuhelfen. Automatisch erstellt mein Gehirn eine Notiz, dass Toben in Zukunft nützlich sein könnte. Er scheint schon länger bei ComRa zu sein, dass erkennt man an der Routine beim Betreten des Gebäudes. Handshake mit der Security danach ein kurzer Schwatz mit dem Empfang und ganz nebenbei werden die Formalitäten erledigt. In weniger als 5 Minuten hat er den Eintritt in die Zentrale gemeistert und grinst verschmitzt von der anderen Seite. „Wir sehen uns, dann in einer halben Stunde bei der Schulung!“, war das letzte was ich von ihm hörte, bevor er in den Weiten der Zentrale verschwand. Ich stand noch am Eingang direkt vor der Tür und brachte zunächst kein Wort raus.

„Bitte treten Sie vor und geben sie alle elektronischen Geräte ab“, brummte mich die Security an. Etwas verschüchtert krame ich in meinen Taschen, bevor ich auf die Idee komme nach dem „Warum?“ zu fragen. „Ich verfolge nur das Standard Sicherheitsprotokoll. Im Interesse seiner Mitarbeiter, nimmt ComRa den Datenschutz sehr ernst. Im Gebäude sind daher keine elektronischen Geräte erlaubt.“ Ich nicke und tue so als würde ich den Sinn hinter der Aussage verstehen. Außer meinem Handy habe ich keine weiteren Geräte bei mir. Dies solle ich mir beim Verlassen des Gebäudes wieder abholen. Des Weiteren erfolgte eine kurze Abtastung, wie beim Betreten eines Fußballstadions. Am Empfang wurde meine Personalien aufgenommen und der Grund meines Besuchs dokumentiert. Bei Lighter wurden die ganzen Sicherheitsmaßnahmen deutlich reduzierter durchgeführt. Vielleicht sieht er einfach vertrauenswürdiger als ich aus. Nach 20 Minuten hatte auch ich die andere Seite erreicht und konnte mich auf den Weg zur Schulung machen. Dabei wurde ich von zwei sehr schweigsamen Mitarbeiter der Security begleitet. Sie brachten mich auf den kürzesten Weg und schnellen Schrittes zum Schulungsraum. Auf meine Fragen reagierten sie nicht. Dabei hätte ich sehr gern gewusst, ob ich auch den Manager von ComRa heute treffen würde. Ich hätte da einige Verbesserungsvorschläge zu unterbreiten, um Effizienz und Wohlfühlfaktor in ein sinnvolles Gleichgewicht zu bringen. Stattdessen sitze ich allein auf einem unbequemen Stuhl und soll auf weitere Anweisungen warten. 

Ich lehne mich zurück und atme tief ein. Dabei fällt mir die Musik auf, welche sanft in der Umgebung ertönt. Ich kann nirgendwo Lautsprecher entdecken. Es scheint so als würde die Musik gleichmäßig aus allen Richtungen auf mich einströmen. Ich schließe die Augen und vergessen für einen Augenblick die Unannehmlichkeiten der letzten Minuten.

deep story nr. 157 | lighter | by Squire

It was an honour to play at Celtic Chaos, a camp lovingly crafted and constructed with some of my closest friends. A home within home. 

Playing this set at Burning Man 2024 was a not only massive highlight of my burn but also of my life so far!  

The energy, the people, the pyro and the magic of the playa made this experience something I'll never forget. 

I hope this mix brings you a taste of that special chaos and love we experienced under the desert sky. Enjoy the journey!

Burning Man 2024

I was scheduled to play on this art car 3 nights before but it didn't work out and I didn't think I would have the opportunity to play on it for the rest of the burn. It's Man Burn night and the entire community comes out for it. There's hundreds of art cars and thousandssss of people surrounding the man. We arrived to one art car to say hi to some friends and noticed there was no space for us to watch the man burn from the car. So we started walking towards another friend's art car to watch the man burn from there. On our walk I saw The Whale art car. Within minutes of just stopping to say hi, I was asked to play at that moment. I plugged in my stick and just let it rip. Immediately when I started the burning of The Man started. It's a very chaotic, intense, and high-energy event where everyone is going for it. So I just went straight for the rippers and had a good fucking time. What a memorable set at Burning Man.
It took so long to get this set out because it took about a month to actually find it. It was recorded on the art car owner's stick but got lost in all the other sets that were recorded. The deck seemed to have bugged out and not recorded the set until we finally went through hoursss of recordings to find it.

Driven by his musical passion André Lodemann has been a scene's mainstay for more than two decades releasing few but quality music. His latest contribution was a remix for FC Kahuna's track Hayling for which he collaborated with long time companion Fabian Dikof and was out late 2019. With more music in the pipe the wait for a full Lodemann-ish release after his album The Deeper You Go on his co-run label Best Works in 2018 might be close. To shorten the wait until new tracks from André will hit stores the passionate Berliner musician has compiled the latest edition of the art:cast special edition, namely an 82 minute lasting journey through his record box, through melodic tunes or such with a preference for a percussive note. Whichever way you look at it André's musical approach remains that of creating a synergy between warm and organic sounds as well as grooving and driving bass lines with a housy vibe. However one wants to classify or call it Lodemann remains true to one sound even though he passes through different genres and delivers an authentic overall composition only a dedicated artist can compile.
