Monty DJ presents his second single, "Flight," an uplifting house roller with a breakbeat groove, rolling bassline, blissful stabs, and fragmented vocals. An all purpose tool for a variety of dancefloor moments.

Joining the release is Retromigration with a signature remix. A percussion-driven take on the original, adding his own synth stabs, vocal chops, jazzy pads, and another big bassline.

JIALING – PERCOLATE ON ACID (Sister Zo Remix)

A big record deserves a big remix package — and JIALING’s FREAKY HORNS was always destined for an extended life on the floor. So we called in friends, family, and freaks to give it the flip it deserved.

WTCHCRFT answers the call and takes ‘ADDY’ to the afters, adding his own vocals and ramping up the claps with all the frenetic energy of a sweaty back room.

On ‘PERCOLATE ON ACID’, Sister Zo channels her love for the original into a late-night propulsive heater: vocal chops, filtered synths and just a whisper of Benny Benassi. That one was always hers to remix.

Baltimore’s own Kade Young & S.DOT take the reins on ‘GET OFF MY JOGWHEEL’, chopping the vocals with the kind of effortless instinct you only get from years in the scene. Friends, collaborators and comrades-in-club, their version is a love letter to home turf — one for the local legends.

And finally: a rare remix from JIALING herself. A first for her, nudged along by a late-night text thread and a dumb joke too good not to run with. “Freaky Horns for Horny Freaks” became the mission statement — and the result is a VIP that dials everything up, from the bass to the brass to the mischief. Suitably ambitious, it sounds like it was made for an NBA arena. Sometimes the title comes before the track, so we had to commit to the bit.

@roza-terenzi  is the latest convert to the Kalahari Oyster Cult, the Australian producer debuts with four tracks showcasing her unique sound. Influences come from far and wide, shifting between electro, house, techno and even early rave anthems. The space bleeps of “Gigi” are soon interrupted by shouldering kick drums. Samples stagger and stumble before key stabs cut through beats in this hazy piece of early morning elation. “Mwah” maintains those euphoric moods. Snapping snares slice through shimmering synthwork and soaring strings to keep the night grooving. Darker tones enter with “Rare High”, but these shades are soon brightened by arcing notes. Acid lines squeak and squirm in this balancing act of disparate colours and chords. Distant lands and exotic encounters are conjured for “Soft”, perfumed percussion and meandering melodies mingle and merge for head swimming close of aromatic audio.”

Roza Terenzi - Mwah EP (OYSTER9 - Snippets)

She walked with purpose and principle, her head held high with dignity and damn right. The walkway was packed during rush hour with tourists hustling to take pictures and anxious business people wandering back and forth hurriedly. Each of them looked more "important" than the last and each had a sense of unrivalled urgency as if to indicate that their next meeting was far more important than yours. Gigi didn't care for the likes of their haste, she walked slowly but surely and with delicate precision. 

Roza Terenzi is set to release a new EP on Kalahari Oyster Cult following the success of her acclaimed first on Good Company Records. This time she draws for the breaks and delivers a fierce statement of intent.

The record label 'POLAAR' is based in France and they've released music from artists Prettybwoy, Mars89, Tim Karbon, Only Now (Kush Arora alias) to name a few. 

Past POLAAR releases have been featured on RA, XLR8R, Mixmag, Trax Magazine and radio plays on NTS, Rinse and many more.

The next outing from the label is the debut release from Jumboclat titled Liberosis. It is a very ambitious 5 track EP, taking its influence in Sound System culture, and shaping a sound between broken beat & dubstep. Highly cinematic.
