Following the great response of their first release, London-based label OTHERTONES have pushed the boundaries once more with another exciting set of productions. This time the task falls to Antony Difrancesco and his Latency EP to continue the label’s rise in acclaim and respect.

An artist that has steadily built up his reputation as one of the most promising talents on the underground circuit, Antony is here free to showcase the true range of his expertise. ‘Jam’ is a prime example of the depth of his influences, infusing the traditional house blueprint with an intangible air of ambience. On Side B, ‘Dimplex’ offers further proof of this and, in keeping with the ethics of the label, is complete with a remix from the ever-elegant and highly respected Vera.

Another showcase of the sound that has become synonymous with the label, Latency is an EP that is rooted in the underground whilst still creating a sound firmly embedded in the future.

Second sampler of the forthcoming Hot Creations compilation album ‘Hot Summer Jams’. This sampler features another smorgasbord of killer cuts, from the inimitable Patrick Topping who, hot on the heels of this years huge ‘Forget’ smash, delivers the dirty fidget fest that is ‘Too Much’. Also on this side is Hot Creations latest star Jey Kurmis with the irrepressible ‘Caz She Can’, another killer! On the flip Tom Flynn gets low-slung ghetto with the hooky as hell ‘Take Me Down’. Rounding of the package is Hot Creations homeboy Russ Yallop with a slice of jacked out hypnotic moon groove, ‘Traffic’, ka’boom! Another superb sampler from this great compilation.

Marcelo Guelfenbein, or just Marcelo Cura, was born in 1983 in Australia, from a Chilean father and a German mother. Because of the artistic jobs of his parents (father: painter / mother: stylist), at the age of two he started moving and living in different countries (Milan/Paris/Barcelona) . All this changes allowed him to be very open minded and internationally inspired. At the age of thirteen, he was completely into the HIP HOP culture, between doing his mixtapes, MC'ing, Graffiti, Breakdancing. Anything that could touch that culture was a passion for him. Then after a trip to Eivissa in the end of the 90's, his passion expanded to house music and percussions. Suddenly, his dj and percussion sessions (in his garage) with friends became a daily need and emergency. Two years later he started to learn how to compose electronic music with a synth and a computer, but at a certain point he decided to learn more about it. He concluded his 3 year sound engineering studies in Paris (European Bachelor) and started working on different audio visual projects. Nowadays, he composes his own tracks and plays in different bar/clubs in Paris (such as Rex Club, Showcase, Batofar, Queen, Bus Palladium, Follie's Pigalle, Barramundi…), next to the label French Kitchen (Cocobeach parties), Coton Tige or CrazyJack and well known artists such as Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Heartthrob, Gaiser, Guti, Mendo, Alex Celler, Ilario Alicante, Funzion, Okain, S.M.A.L.L, Franck Lorber, Andrea Oliva, Karotte, Chris wood & Meat, but also in different countries like Germany (Cocoon Club), Spain (Sonar), England, Italy, Tunisia or Israel. Marcelo has proved his exceptional sutdio skills with releases on labels like Trapez Ltd, D-Floor, Catwash, French Kitchen, Coton Tige, Equilibrium Lab, Earlydub, Mainakustik, Spur, Greelpound, Kontrol rec, Les Diamantaires, Raw Trax and many more. Marcelo landed on Baile Musik with Guerilla project which sounds a little bit experimental with touch of classical minimal deep tech house spiced with fasntastic remixes by Alisonn and Gaspara.

The premise "Don't touch the record" makes a lot of sense when you know Rich Wakley. His productions as Filthy Rich in labels as huge as Hot Waves, Toolroom or Defected are too hot to even try to lay hands on them once spinning. 

We had the pleasure of releasing his chart topping "HUSTLE EP" in OFFSPIN and we couldn't wait to have him back, this time with a different alias, but the same groove and dancefloor spice, that beat madness we certainly love to offer our loyal fans.

"Don't touch the record" is the track that provides the name for this amazing 4-track EP and kicks it off with style, with a jackin drum machine beat and an infectious bassline both creating a driving dirty groove destined to rock any peak hour set.

"Lost Romance" shows more of those powerful roland drums, while clever hip hop stabs and hypnotic vocals make the perfect ecosystem for the bass stabs to shine. 

"Addictation" goes a bit darker without giving up an inch of groove, nasty percussion and agressive low end are the perfect formula for another dancefloor shuffler.

Closing this perfect toolbox comes "Block Party", a deeper but still swinged up killer, with ghetto stabs and a too-hot to handle sub bass presence.

Rick Wakley is a wizard when it comes to creating dancefloor weapons, we are glad to have him back!

Rich NxT helms the next release on the Fuse London label, with his ‘What’s In The Box' EP, the 3rd solo EP from one of the parties chief residents. This release brings yet more variety to the NxT stall with a classic feel on the A1 track, ‘Defy’ where he kicks things off with his trademark, crisp beats and razor sharp percussion riding over the dubby low end, then opening out into lush pads and a vocal that never fail to raise the atmosphere, proving popular with people everywhere. ‘Mylove’ is the release’s vinyl only track and is an understated anthem, once again delving deep with brooding bass, paired with drum snatches echoing that of his early jungle days. When the tripped out male vocal and percussion builds into the drop and counter melody, all the elements align in that unique NxT fashion. Over on the flip, ‘Twang’ has become another firm favourite with audiences, calling again on memories of old school rave combined with a rolling, edgy groove, whilst ‘Cannonball’ finishes the EP off in fine style with a slab of atmospheric wonder perfect for those early morning sunlit sessions.

Throughout the 2016 season residents Mark Jenkyns and Leftwing & Kody will be regular fixtures at the events, which is why VIVa have tapped them up to craft two mixes exemplary of Warriors’ distinct musical aesthetic.  Turning heads ever since his debut on Hot Creations four years ago, Mark Jenkyns has since followed up with appearances on Rinse, Dogmatik, Leftroom, Resonance and Crosstown Rebels, not to mention collaborating with Inxec as 12 Stories with a release on VIVa MUSiC last year.
