Meet the crew! 

We are excited to introduce each one of the Floating Dreams DJs over the next few months. 

First up, it’s Laik Tan…

A classically trained violinist and self-taught guitarist, Laik started DJing in 2002. Cutting his teeth on progressive house and breakbeat in the 2000s, his taste has refined over the years to slower beats and emotive melodies.

Laik’s sets explore the organic, deep and melodic side of house, inspired by artists such as M.O.S, Deek That, Rigooni, CRi and Jody Wisternoff.

He has residencies at Music Room Melbourne and Arbory Afloat and in 2022, supported Sebastian Leger [All Day I Dream], Martin Roth [Anjunadeep] and Double Touch [All Day I Dream/TRYBESof].

Matt Saz’s sets are dreamy, deep & emotional. His discovery of electronic music back in circa 2006 was thanks to the iconic Ministry of Sound compliations. From these early years of EDM he has since developed a love (or maybe obsession?) with life in the clouds (organic house) and all the labels associated, such as All Day I Dream, TRYBESof, Tale & Tone, Shanti Moscow Radio. 

Matt’s favourite artists include Volen Sentir, Nohan, Madraas, MissFeat, Mass Digital, Amonita, George X, Double Touch, VieL, Death on the Balcony. 

Matt’s DJing highlights include supporting Double Touch [All Day I Dream, TRYBESof], Sébastien Léger [All Day I Dream / Lost Miracle], Fede Pals [3rd Avenue; The Purr], & James Beetham [Late Night Music]. Matt has current residencies at Arbory Afloat and Music Room Melbourne.

Bio:

VEGA (AU) is a longtime electronic music enthusiast and DJ with a flair for sophisticated sounds that delve into earthy organic and afro house percussions, to soulful deep/lounge and jazz house grooves, vibrant nu-disco, as well as ranging in atmospheric melodic, breakbeat and progressive house. 

Based in Melbourne, Australia, his sound has been influenced over the years from iconic labels including Anjunadeep, All Day I Dream, Large Music and Be Adult Music and is naturally drawn to track selections that evoke an emotive and atmospheric tone.

He has played in several of Melbournes' sought after nightspots including my aeon, Howler, Top Yard, and Brown Alley, where he has made support appearances on Anjunadeep event linups for artists such as Nox Vahn and CRi. Vega (AU) previously held monthly residencies at some of Melbourne's top venues including the balearic summer river bar 'Arbory Afloat' and the intimate 'Music Room' at HER Bar as a member of @floatingdreamsmusic. 

Floating Dreams are a collective of five passionate DJs who specialise in DJing and hosting organic, melodic and deep house centric events in Melbourne. Over the past several years, the group has funded and held a series of day party and evening events at Brunswick's Howler, with headline artists including Anjunadeep's Dee Montero, Blake. 08 and M.O.S., as well as Double Touch [All Day I Dream].
