Framework co-founder SJ takes the reins for Episode 4 of Yax Invites. Have a read of his bio below, along with some words about his contribution towards the mix series:

I am a 21-year-old DJ based in Manchester UK and co-founder of Manchester based collective and podcast series, Framework. 

My first route into electronic music was around the age of 15 where I started to get in to house music, leading me to gain a strong love for Chicago and Detroit house. Around this time, I basically used to spend hours listening to music on YouTube and through these algorithms I discovered tracks such as Black Russian and all DVS1s early Klockworks releases which remain some of my favourite pieces of music, with DVS1 being my idol and main source of inspiration, and essentially opened up a whole new musical world to me.

This in turn led me deeper into the electronic music spectrum, sparking an interest in Detroit techno, resulting in me seeing artists such as Robert Hood in my mid to late teens. Ever since I have built a strong passion for techno, delving deeper and deeper into the many different facets of the genre which has resulted in my current taste, revolving particularly around deep, sci-fi and mental hypnotic techno as I see this as more than just simply music, it is something much more powerful than that and the ability of music and sonics to alter your mind states and moods on the dance floor is something I find fascinating.

I love the concept of an extended mix series as I feel that extended mixes are the best way to truly portray your sound and tell your story, as opposed to feeling the need to hammer it out from the off which is the instinct that can arise with shorter mixes. 

For this mix I aimed to tell a story, weaving in different atmospheres and textures to build tension and have different twists and turns before ending on some groovier sounds and old school Detroit classics.

Black Mirror Park is DJ and producer located in Berlin, Germany, and a founding member of Sonntagsinstitut Collective, a crew that works on the intersection of club culture, electronic music and politics. 

BMP plays mostly vinyl, sometimes digital, but always techno, sometimes with an acidic and dubbed-out twist: when producing, he presents quite a variety of sounds, from tool-y techno to dreamy stuff, utilizing Roland drums, stabby synths and uplifting pads.

Mathys Lenne is a French DJ and producer who has been making waves in the scene with his hypnotic and cosmic vision of techno.

EP “Reckon” released on @hayescollective where he displays high-intensity techno reviving the early 2000’s golden era with a masterful display.
In June 2023 he debuted as his alias “The Scan” on @bluehour909 music with his EP: “Callgroove” led by bold rhythmic groove manipulation, classic drum programming, and immersive atmospherics.

Decoder for DifferentSound Podcast #261.

Decoder is a Dallas based music producer and DJ specializing in the realm of sci-fi & deep techno. His music is often filled with ambitious soundscapes, rolling sequences, and off kilter sound design.

Early in March 2021, Decoder saw his first release "The  Futurist" come to life on the Italian label "Antiterra". Following the EP came a consistent schedule of releases, including releases on labels such as Bomphcast, Srie Records, and his own imprint Codec Recordings. The year also saw the release of his first album, "Monolithic Activity Spectrum" on the Spanish label "Subsist". Decoder ended the year with his second album release "Dark Shape", which was put out on Jeff Mills' legendary imprint "Axis".

The first half of 2022 showed no signs of slowing down, as Decoder's "Moro Safa EP" was released on Amsterdam based label "Float Records". It also saw the third full length album titled "Plurality Module" released on Subsist. The  latter half of the year saw his first 12" vinyl release  "Singularity 2" released  on Dallas native label "Science Cult", as well as his follow up release on Float Records titled "Kanavugal".

These releases have also garnered Decoder support from many artists including the likes of Richie Hawtin, Jeff Mills, Ben Sims, Jeroen Search, TWR72, Yanamaste, to name a few. 

Decoder's touring schedule has also seen notable moments, including shows played for Infra (Boston), BCCO (Berlin), Cialo (Poland), Neighbourhood (London), among others.

Belgrade-born producer focusing on the deepest side of Techno. Released on Soma Records, Mord, MindTrip, Edit Select, Olympian, and Faut Section — the early support of his productions from leading players in the Techno industry has been proofing the quality of his output from early on.
Sounding out the depth of Techno, his thorough understanding carries his productions, defined by a minimalistic and dark sound aesthetic driven by deep grooves. Continuous tension is running through his tracks without using big build-ups or massive breakdowns. Milo manages to get to the root of Techno and reinterpret it in a unique and personal way, independent of trends — Modern, future-oriented Techno.
Milo Raad performed from Asia to South America and is a regular across venues in Europe, where he presented his music at some of the most distinguished events and clubs like Boiler Room, Tresor Berlin, Exit Festival, and Melkweg Amsterdam, to name a few.
