MARRØN, known for his rhythmic sound driven by his roots, has curated a hypnotizing mix exclusively for Float Records. The mix is released as a limited mix CD containing 31 unreleased tracks by up and coming talents and established artists from the techno landscape. Next to the CD, all tracks are released separately as a VA.  

A word from MARRØN: When I was approached to do a cd mix for Float Records with my complete input from a dj perspective, I was nothing but honored and motivated to create something special. I’ve selectively chosen producers who I feel musically connected to and those who could use a push in their young careers. It’s important for me to be able to give back to the scene as much as it gives me. 

This mix and all the tracks selected are mainly focused on the key elements I wish for in techno, which is having a locked in groove and rhythm throughout the whole duration of time. Pushing for detailed minimalism and pace that keeps you in a driving energetic mood. Punchy variated low ends but never too heavy, a mix that brings the club dancefloor to wherever you are listening to it.

"Traffic," featuring field recordings of car horns from the Modena-Brennaro autostrada, and "Orbital," enriched with harmonics from an acoustic guitar. Her dynamic progression is celebrated in the energetic dance floors of local clubs such as Grelle Forelle and PRST, and echoes internationally in Germany, Spain, Croatia, Georgia, and Sweden. Following her successful appearances at distinguished events such as Herrensauna, Marcel Dettmann's Bad Manners showcase, and Unchained Blitz, Menal Batti continues to transmit her compelling rhythmic narratives with an atmospheric touch, demonstrating the evolution of her musical identity.

Kevin Ferhati is an American DJ/Producer Based in Berlin emerged onto the electronic music scene in 2017 with his inaugural release in 2018, marking the beginning of a journey characterized by innovation and artistic exploration. The Metapattern project is a hardware machine-based approach to live performance and production including elements of techno, noise, industrial, modular, drone, melody, and atmosphere.

Metapattern, an Austrian born long-term resident of Australia is based in the city of Brisbane. Time is divided between producing techno under the main alias Metapattern and newly formed duo Voidfil. The focus is on hardware machine-based approach to live performance and production including elements of techno, noise, industrial, modular, drone, melody, and atmosphere. 2018 has been a key year for the project, finding a home in Machine Label for the deeper style releases.

Outside of production and performance, Metapattern is involved with a local live electronic music collective who promote diverse electronic music experiences. As an Ableton Certified Trainer, he works to foster new talent through user group meetups and has been involved with teaching for a decade at SAE Creative Media Institute. The obsession with the techno culture leads to many trips to neighbouring cities and international expeditions.

He has especially solidified his imprint in his hometown, gaining mass respect from peers and party goers a like. The name Hashashin represents his Arabic roots.

He is known for his high energy sets, mixing deep rolling baselines with up tempo hypnotic sounds. With Hashashin, expect to be taken on  a mystic voyage through the unknown. But one thing is for sure, you can’t leave the dance floor.

A new year, a new debut artist. This time it’s Rotterdam based Najel Monteiro. His EP Synnabel Lectus 2 is an exploration of the human psyche, pushing the boundaries between inner perception and external reality. MKO is a DJ and promoter with over a decade of experience in the Polish scene and is a resident at Jasna 1 and a key member of the SLAP crew. He now fully dedicates himself to his club night, Shadows. His sound has resonated in Poland’s most iconic venues and internationally in cult clubs and festivals. In his sets, he moves fluidly through different shades of techno, deep, dub, trippy, and classic Detroit influences, without being confined to a single style.

This mix is a recording from Shadows, where he shared the booth with Kaiser and Chami, handling warm-up duties. It’s a journey from 135 to 140 BPM, packed with tracks he loves playing right now.

The term "artist to watch" gets thrown around a lot these days, especially with the volume of new artists entering the scene with unprecedented access to tracks, information, and technology. Often, however, it's a certain attitude that elevates the true heads above the groundswell of an ocean of new artists, and Connor Wall is unquestionably of this ilk.

Inspired from past, present and future experiences - Connor's creative constancy has allowed him to shape his sound into the organic, weighty, and effective tracks you can hear on labels like Treatment, Float, Phorum and WSNWG.  There is a potent, heart-palpitating sonic representation that accompanies anything Connor does, and part of the reason why he is such an exciting prospect leading into the future. His devotion to a particular sound and approach has driven his ability to grow rapidly since entering the scene just a few years ago, and it is this obsession that will continue to allow him to blossom. He’s an artist to watch by all accounts, and whether it’s DJing or producing, he is emerging as an essential feature of Australia.

Franz delivers what he does best, cutting straight to the core of what techno is. The spectrum of Float Records is again extended with latest signing Dold. Housed in Sweden, this talented new producer delivers three analog pieces of music. Fisssh takes care of the remix to show you his approach. 

The original Tumult starts modest, but builds up to an intense moment of full force, which is supported by minimal yet heavy drums. Fisssh uses his intelligent percussion game to give the original a different direction. With intense filtering and layering he succeeds to flip the originals sequence into a new one. Sågtand almost overrules itself with its sequenced penetrating saw, distorted minimal kicks and clever positioned high hats. This haunting tool let’s no place untainted. Sfär closes the EP in style with a rolling sequence combined with an ongoing soundscape in the background.
