His mixes are breathing and full of life. Little subtle details are telling the story of each individual track. But all tracks together tell a coherent story as well. MARRØN, known for his rhythmic sound driven by his roots, has curated a hypnotizing mix exclusively for Float Records. The mix is released as a limited mix CD containing 31 unreleased tracks by up and coming talents and established artists from the techno landscape. Next to the CD, all tracks are released separately as a VA.  

A word from MARRØN: When I was approached to do a cd mix for Float Records with my complete input from a dj perspective, I was nothing but honored and motivated to create something special. I’ve selectively chosen producers who I feel musically connected to and those who could use a push in their young careers. It’s important for me to be able to give back to the scene as much as it gives me. 

This mix and all the tracks selected are mainly focused on the key elements I wish for in techno, which is having a locked in groove and rhythm throughout the whole duration of time. Pushing for detailed minimalism and pace that keeps you in a driving energetic mood. Punchy variated low ends but never too heavy, a mix that brings the club dancefloor to wherever you are listening to it.

I-RO is an Amsterdam-based DJ, and founder of The Echo Series. Born in Istanbul, her musical journey began with drumming and exploring a wide range of music genres. ASEC debuts on Float Records with his "Snake Eater" EP, where he channels the electric momentum of the dancefloor. Delving into a distinct sound palette, ASEC refined compositions with intricate details, favoring texture and atmosphere over conventional hooks. 

"Traffic," featuring field recordings of car horns from the Modena-Brennaro autostrada, and "Orbital," enriched with harmonics from an acoustic guitar. The Metapattern project is a hardware machine-based approach to live performance and production including elements of techno, noise, industrial, modular, drone, melody, and atmosphere.

Metapattern, an Austrian born long-term resident of Australia is based in the city of Brisbane. Time is divided between producing techno under the main alias Metapattern and newly formed duo Voidfil. The focus is on hardware machine-based approach to live performance and production including elements of techno, noise, industrial, modular, drone, melody, and atmosphere. 2018 has been a key year for the project, finding a home in Machine Label for the deeper style releases.

Outside of production and performance, Metapattern is involved with a local live electronic music collective who promote diverse electronic music experiences. As an Ableton Certified Trainer, he works to foster new talent through user group meetups and has been involved with teaching for a decade at SAE Creative Media Institute. The obsession with the techno culture leads to many trips to neighbouring cities and international expeditions.

A new year, a new debut artist. This time it’s Rotterdam based Najel Monteiro. His EP Synnabel Lectus 2 is an exploration of the human psyche, pushing the boundaries between inner perception and external reality. With its introspective and experimental approach, this EP contemplates how our understanding of the world is a complex interplay of individual experiences, social influences, and emotional undercurrents. The work emphasizes the fragility and distortion of truth, questioning the solidity of the constructs by which we navigate life.

MKO is a DJ and promoter with over a decade of experience in the Polish scene and is a resident at Jasna 1 and a key member of the SLAP crew. He now fully dedicates himself to his club night, Shadows. His sound has resonated in Poland’s most iconic venues and internationally in cult clubs and festivals. In his sets, he moves fluidly through different shades of techno, deep, dub, trippy, and classic Detroit influences, without being confined to a single style.

This mix is a recording from Shadows, where he shared the booth with Kaiser and Chami, handling warm-up duties. It’s a journey from 135 to 140 BPM, packed with tracks he loves playing right now.

The term "artist to watch" gets thrown around a lot these days, especially with the volume of new artists entering the scene with unprecedented access to tracks, information, and technology. Often, however, it's a certain attitude that elevates the true heads above the groundswell of an ocean of new artists, and Connor Wall is unquestionably of this ilk.

Inspired from past, present and future experiences - Connor's creative constancy has allowed him to shape his sound into the organic, weighty, and effective tracks you can hear on labels like Treatment, Float, Phorum and WSNWG.  There is a potent, heart-palpitating sonic representation that accompanies anything Connor does, and part of the reason why he is such an exciting prospect leading into the future. His devotion to a particular sound and approach has driven his ability to grow rapidly since entering the scene just a few years ago, and it is this obsession that will continue to allow him to blossom. He’s an artist to watch by all accounts, and whether it’s DJing or producing, he is emerging as an essential feature of Australia.

During a summer journey through Italy, Avant.OCS recorded the textures that surrounded them: whispers of wind, sun-cracked woods, and fragments of nature scorched under a relentless sun. Upon returning home, these organic impressions were fused with modular explorations, blending natural elements with synthetic sound. The resulting EP moves through hypnotic, molten rhythms and raw, tactile atmospheres. Prototype V marks a deepening of Avant.OCS’s pursuit of new sonic ideas, pushing the boundaries of techno while remaining rooted in its essence. Stephen Disario has become a leading figure in Los Angeles’s techno scene with his signature style of moody, driving techno. Beyond his productions and DJ sets, he’s shaped the community through Cognition, the event brand he co-founded in 2017, and his work with LA’s premier sound company H2Audio. In 2023, he launched Conundrum Records, spotlighting both his own sound and that of like-minded artists. You can find him playing everywhere from underground warehouses to stages like ADE, Boiler Room, and CRSSD.
