This week, we’ve invited Berlin based DJ, NONA also known as Marc.

Marc has been passionate about music of all kinds of genres as well as subcultural scenes since his youth. In the end, being a DJ was the most fulfilling way for him to be musically active and create sonic experiences. Being a DJ was the most fulfilling way for him to become musically active and create sound experiences. Also because dancing is one of his great passions, his energetic mixes are always dancefloor-oriented.

Even though his sound is constantly evolving, the focus has always been on a high tempo, precise kicks, sharp hats as well as hypnotic and functional sound elements. The most important thing for him will always be the meticulous digging and selection of tracks by outstanding artists.

Besides his solo project as Nona, he is co-founder of the multidisciplinary music, art and event collective re:flect (@re_flect) based in Berlin.

@red_rooms, DJ producer from Berlin focusing on hypnotic grooves.

Dominik Hisslinger alias Red Rooms started producing music and DJing back in 2003. On his almost 20-year-long musical journey he played and produced music from various electronic genres which influence his sound to the present day. In 2017 Red Rooms came to life inspired by the tracks of artists such as Rodhad, Exium, Dasha Rush, Truncate, TWR72 just to name a few. It's the minimalistic, hypnotic sound combined with energetic and driving grooves that define his sound. With several releases under his belt and more to come, Red Rooms is one to watch!

Nastia joins our new series and supports invites Ukrainian DJ & Producer, Kichi Kazuko to our series Podcast #002.

Kichi Kazuko is the Kyiv-based techno project of Inna Shapovalova. DJ and producer from the Dots crew representing Kyiv's underground electronic stage. Kichi's idiosyncratic take on both new and classic references: acid drones contrasting with the break rhythms - jungle or electro, expressive dynamics with funky sound, and hypnotic wave combine with 4/4 techno functionality therefore, she successfully mixes the new with the old sounds.

This series aims to support more artists and showcase talented artists.

Mode_1 is a techno producer and DJ and a resident for one of the most consistent collectives in Dublin, Subject. He produces clean and powerful peak time techno and his DJ sets would be best described as fast and trippy with a groove. As a Subject resident, he plays regularly at two of the city’s best venues, District 8 and Index as well as festivals such as Life Festival, Electric Picnic and Boxed Off. At the beginning of 2018, Mode_1 had his track "Oíche" featured on Berghain resident Fiedel’s Double Mixpack EP, "Appendix", which also featured tracks from Jay Clarke, Ron Albrecht, Noncompliant and Philippe Petit.

In January 2019, he contributed his track "Twenty7" for a collectors edition vinyl commemorating the closure of the infamous District 8, alongside producers Tinfoil, Hybrasil and Moduse. It was an exciting year for the artist, as he then released his debut EP "Final Approach" on French label Knotweed and later featured his track "Return" on Fiedel’s new label Super Sound Tool. 2020 saw Mode_1 back on Knotweed with his EP "Mainframe" and on Fiedel’s label FiedelTwo with the "4x4 Series Pt1" EP. He was featured on Truncate’s "Missing" remix compilation and his EP "Pusher" was released on the legendary label, Naked Lunch Records.

In 2021, Mode_1 released the first EP on his own label, M1M series with M1M_001 and later in the year with M1M_002. Having remixed Vinicius Honorio’s track "Hideous" for his label Liberta Records and his track "Six10" featured on the VA compilation of Insolate’s label Out of Place Records. In march of 2021, he returned to Knotweed with his EP "Movements". 2022 started off strong with his fourth release on Knotweed, as well as releases on Prophecy Records and his third instalment of his M1M series. In 2023 he made his debut in Berlin’s AVA Club, Suicideclub and Ostra Club in France as well as releasing tracks on two VA's for RLSD and Reverse VA01.

He is known for his high energy sets, mixing deep rolling baselines with up tempo hypnotic sounds. With Hashashin, expect to be taken on  a mystic voyage through the unknown. But one thing is for sure, you can’t leave the dance floor.

MKO is a DJ and promoter with over a decade of experience in the Polish scene and is a resident at Jasna 1 and a key member of the SLAP crew. He now fully dedicates himself to his club night, Shadows. His sound has resonated in Poland’s most iconic venues and internationally in cult clubs and festivals. In his sets, he moves fluidly through different shades of techno, deep, dub, trippy, and classic Detroit influences, without being confined to a single style.

This mix is a recording from Shadows, where he shared the booth with Kaiser and Chami, handling warm-up duties. It’s a journey from 135 to 140 BPM, packed with tracks he loves playing right now.

The term "artist to watch" gets thrown around a lot these days, especially with the volume of new artists entering the scene with unprecedented access to tracks, information, and technology. Often, however, it's a certain attitude that elevates the true heads above the groundswell of an ocean of new artists, and Connor Wall is unquestionably of this ilk.

Inspired from past, present and future experiences - Connor's creative constancy has allowed him to shape his sound into the organic, weighty, and effective tracks you can hear on labels like Treatment, Float, Phorum and WSNWG.  There is a potent, heart-palpitating sonic representation that accompanies anything Connor does, and part of the reason why he is such an exciting prospect leading into the future. His devotion to a particular sound and approach has driven his ability to grow rapidly since entering the scene just a few years ago, and it is this obsession that will continue to allow him to blossom. He’s an artist to watch by all accounts, and whether it’s DJing or producing, he is emerging as an essential feature of Australia.
