I'm about to do something weird for someone who works at a music promotion company.

I'm going to try to talk you OUT of buying playlist placement.

At least... maybe.

Because here's what I've learned: playlist placement is powerful, but only when the timing is right.

It's probably NOT the right time if:

Your track isn't fully polished yet.

I get it. You're excited. You want to get it out there.

But playlist listeners decide in seconds whether to keep listening or skip. A track that's "almost there" won't survive that test.

It's probably NOT the right time if:

You don't have anywhere to send new fans.

A playlist introduces you to thousands of people. Amazing!

But if those people click your profile and find a ghost town? They'll move on. Fast.

You need at least a few more tracks, some social presence, SOMETHING that says "this artist is worth following."

It's probably NOT the right time if:

You're hoping this one thing will change everything.

Playlist placement is an amplifier, not a magic wand.

It works best when you're already building something...

When you have momentum to multiply.

But if the timing IS right?

If your music is ready, you've got a presence for people to discover, and you're actively building your career?

Then getting your track in front of 5,000 to 15,000 real, targeted listeners can accelerate everything.

Your streams go up. The algorithm notices. Real fans find you.

That's when playlist placement earns its reputation.
