"Goodbye, Mother. May you drift with the sea, dance with the wind, meet the stars, and find your peace." The feeling of ceremonially letting go of a loved one - I wanted to capture this moment I know well. The solo violin is the poem, the strings are the tides of the ocean, and the ending connotes the resolution of loss.

This was a submission for the #VOStringsComp23 competition for Orchestral Tools. The rules were to take a melody written by Alex Lamy and blow it up to a full 2 minute string symphony. I hope you all enjoy!
