Coming across the Aotearoa / New Zealand based duo of Brooklyn Mellar and Ike Zwanikken's Hysterical Love Project has been one of the nicest music related surprises of 2021 for me. Their album, "Endless Bliss Weekener", hits a sweet spot somewhere between the 4AD / Projekt universe and early 2000's / late 90's downtempo. I'm so excited to have them contribute a mix to the series... (which features an unreleased demo of theirs :))

@carmenvillain is an artist based in Norway who has been releasing on @smalltownsupersound since 2013. Her most recent album ‘Both Lines Will Be Blue’ saw her expand her unique brand of contemporary psychedeliaca even further, luxuriating in the sensuous soundscapes that she creates while also experimenting with music concrete and avant-garde techniques. A remix EP will be released this Friday 28th February that features some of Villain’s favourite dance producers. Her mix for Bleep channels her affection for club music, with just over an hour of trippy, rhythmically astute sounds from a range of contemporary musicians.
