Kazumi Sakoda mixes and presents TAPE 011.

Kazumi Sakoda is a Japanese artist based in Barcelona for the past 5 years, exploring the sonic differences between the streets of Barcelona and the sounds of Tokyo, where she was born and raised. She collects sounds from both cities and transforms these materials into music in cassette format, using handmade loops from these tapes. Through the recontextualization of these cassettes, sampling, and recordings of urban soundscapes, her compositions blur the boundaries between experimental music and noise.

It is said that dreams transform objective images into subjective ones. I believe it's like music that subjectively reconstructs things and places I objectively felt. Moreover, the backdrop of dreams and music reflects the political and historical aspects of real society. I am dreaming again while listening to the music of these incredible artists.

Florina Speth, born 1983 in the mountains near Salzburg, started playing the cello and piano at the age of 6 and began studying music at the “University Mozarteum Salzburg” when she was just 11. She won several prices playing solo and string quartett ensembles, was part of orchestras like Bayerisches Landesjugend Orchester and Salzburger Junge Philarmonie all over Europe. Always keenly interested in contemporary music, she was part of performing ensembles in lots of world premieres.

In her PhD she investigated the role of sound in robotic rehabilitation. She has been working as Postdoctoral researcher on Music, Machines and the Human hand. She has been working as a futurist, writing books on the 22nd century and future of health. These days she holds a professorship in Digital Health in which she tackles the humane tech-potentials for the silver society.

She loves bridging experimental arts with science to get inspiring output. In current live performances she works with cello and synths.
