- Make a song in response to the weekly assigned poem (a new poem is published every Wednesday)

- When choosing a title for your piece also include the assignment number, for example “Title of your track (naviarhaiku110)”

Wind turning leaf (Naviar Haiku 407 Rumblin Cynth Rampo)

This week's haiku, by Mark Miller, inspired my improvisation (in C major), played on Lea Bertucci Acoustic Shadows VST synth (by Spitfire Audio). Recorded and mixed in Reaper, with Timeless2 added. Mastered with CloudBounce.

The Turning Maple (naviarhaiku407)

A track for Naviar Records weekly Haiku challenge; seven days in which to produce a piece in response to the haiku posted. For the lead brass instruments I used Audiomodelling's SWAM Flugelhorn and Eb Flugelhorn. I also experimented with some live percussion playing my Korean Jangu. My idea was that the wind instruments represent the wind of the poem and the percussion, the falling leaves.

My music is freely improvised, usually on VST synthesizers, sometimes fretless bass, guitar, occasionally electric viola or cello, with a variety of effects pedals. Solo music is performed live and recorded as 'FlownBlue'.  I am also in four improvising duos: 'Windfall Light' (with Jim Tetlow), 'Abstract Blue' (with Kevin Buckland), 'Light Fragments' (with Steve Escott), and Szukanie (with Michał Wojciechowski).
