The castle of Alamut in Persia was the place where Hasan-i Sabbâh, the old man from the moutain, proclaimed the event of the resurection in 1164. From now on the only law of conduct was to live outside the law. Thou what thou wilt, as Crowley would say, many centuries later. Outside of the Sharia, the mystical revolutionaries of Alamut turned  life itself into an act of worship , the constant unfolding of a  cosmic renegate poetry.
