The wait is over! With the Spring Essentials 2023 release just around the corner, and the weather warming up, it's the perfect time for us to enjoy a spring themed showcase.

A lot of great submissions this time, honestly this just feels like listening to an early Spring Essentials because of how well you guys did with sticking to the theme! I loved the blend of warm, upbeat tones giving a feeling of nature getting ready for spring, in addition to a few tracks that also reminded me of when you're taking a nap in the shade on a sunny afternoon.

There will be a listening party in the Chillhop Discord server, go join and head to the Community Showcase channel for more details.

Because this is only our second time using a theme, I will remind everyone that sticking to the theme is required, along with the other rules, which are posted as a reminder. The theme for the next showcase will be posted in the Discord server a week after the previous showcase is posted, so make sure to keep an eye out for that.

--Rules for Chillhop Community Showcase submissions--

-Submissions are open for one week from the beginning of the month. The listening party will take place on the weekend after the submission window closes.
-You are allowed to submit one track per artist, if you submit more, the first submission will be used. 
-The tracks need to be on SoundCloud and set to public.
-Please try and keep the tracks under five minutes.
-The track cannot be older than one month.
- The track must align with the theme
-Only use samples if you have permission and give the correct acknowledgements where necessary.
-It is *mandatory* that you are in the Chillhop Discord, and that you submit your discord tag as well. 
-If you do not submit a track for two showcases or more, your community artist role will be removed until your next submission.

UK producers illiterate and Mr. Slipz bring the boom bap vibes for their new collaborative beat tape. At eight songs, the project blends jazzy piano medleys with hard-hitting drums and bass. Horns come and go alongside synths and bass and claps and kicks. Meshing a golden era / old school sound with a modern take on instrumental hip-hop, this project feels like a quintessential listen for beat enthusiasts. An upbeat comfort tape to close out the year. 

This project is the sixth in a series of ongoing beat tapes released through Chillhop Music. While this is the final one of 2022, look out the next to arrive in early 2023.
