Born in Athens, this rising star grew up with a love for music. Playing the guitar from a young age, his passion slowly began to turn towards Electronic music. Mixing natural and organic sounds, blended beautifully with soothing melodies makes Plecta’s music very special indeed. 

With releases on some of the best labels around, including The Soundgarden, Hoomidaas, Tale & Tone, Everything Will Be Ok, and many more, we are really excited to have him put this mix together for us.

We welcome Philip Cunningham a.k.a Jakhira for the thirty-ninth edition of the 'Deep In Mix' series. He currently resides in Lebbeke, Belgium and is originally from Lichfield, UK. Jakhira started on his own when he was 14 and created dance music which was popular at that time. A classically trained musician with a heart that beats to a groove, his signature style is a melting pot of widespread influences. Compulsively creative whilst ridiculously meticulous, the multi-instrumentalist blends electronic with the organic effortlessly, forging ethereal explorations into sound. He has released on imprints such as Everything Will Be OK, Magician On Duty, Dream Culture, Nordic Voyage Recordings, Canopy Sounds, Be Adult Music, and Dialtone Records to name a few. Jakhira’s DJ sets are in high demand and always well received. He has a monthly show on Frisky.FM, called 'Ethereality'. With a greater creative license in radio and podcasting, Ethereality has quickly become known for its expansive take on deep, melodic and of course ethereal music without being strictly tied down to one niche subgenre. He derives inspiration from some heavyweights in the scene like  Powel, Pablo Bolívar, Padre, Lost Desert, Ólafur Arnalds and Janus Rasmussen. Listeners can expect a rather laidback and ethereal vibe, with tight grooves and beautiful melodies.

We dug a bit deeper into his territory - "I made music which was a long way away from what I do these days, including turning toilet rolls and children's rattles into shakers and transforming the sound of my finger tapping a wild mushroom into a percussion loop. After a couple of years of trying my hand at production, I also started to buy and mix vinyl records. I still do but considering venues don't usually have turntables anymore, I've adapted to playing digitally as well. I like making music that has a sense of ethereality, like organic house, deep house or even rominimal and dubby techno. Enjoy the mix."
