"Tras la esencia" tiene su punto de partida inspirada en un tema de Atli Örvarsson para la serie "Defending Jacob" de Apple TV+, aunque como tantas otras veces, la canción luego tomó su propio camino.

Un camino que transita en la búsqueda de las emociones más básicas, un viaje que explora atmósferas frías, de lluvia y nieve, misterio... con una nota MI ligeramente desafinada que aparece y desaparece durante todo el tema, y un piano suave, que también se repite, como la voluntad constante de descubrir qué es lo que nos define, qué es lo que nos conmueve, qué podemos ofrecer...

"Behind the Essence" has its starting point inspired by a theme by Atli Örvarsson for the Apple TV + series "Defending Jacob", although like so many times, the song later took its own path.

A path that travels in search of the most basic emotions, a journey that explores cold atmospheres, rain and snow, mystery ... with a slightly out of tune E note that appears and disappears throughout the song, and a soft piano, which It is also repeated, such as the constant will to discover what defines us, what moves us, what we can offer ...

Barcelona based piano player and electronic musician Bruno Sanfilippo is a classically trained musician and composer who has been exploring the borders of minimal piano concepts and electro-acoustic music for more than 20 years. His CD series "Piano Textures“  sets him in a direct tradition of artists as Harold Budd and Brian Eno, combining slow piano tunes with electronic soundscapes. With "ClarOscuro“, he now makes his step into the genre of modern classical music by presenting his first composition work for piano trio. Most of the nine tracks on the album feature Sanfilippo accompanied by Spanish musicians Manuel del Fresno on Violoncello and Pere Bardagí on Violin, while some of the tracks still let the sensitive piano playing stand on its own. With the fragility and beauty of some Arvo Pärt compositions and a high cinematic touch, "ClarOscuro" brings the perfect soundtrack for an imaginary movie.

Impossible to forget the 1,750,000 refugees, escaped from Ireland in the middle of the nineteenth century, for the great famine.

economic interests, colonialism, wars, deaths, refugees, hunger, racism.

Years go by and the story repeats itself.
Those who are well now, think to be immune to these events, but there is no country in history that has not had such dramatic events.

Our thoughts and inner talk are with us constantly, driving our emotions, as our emotions drive our thoughts. Sometimes this can be a peaceful place, at other times, more reflective, or sad yet filled with hope. Our thoughts can be wonderful things, yet if we begin to 'drown'  in them they can be a danger as we can become overwhelmed, dwell on things or worries that may not come to be, or become stuck within grief and loss which can both comfort us and hold us back. I often find myself thinking too much, and need to remember the 'moment', to stop over-analysing fear, sadness, and to focus on the peaceful and hopeful times, and one of the best ways for me to express this, is through music, as so many of you do <3 xx
