Cellos and Violin - The Messenger

This composition was written over a period of five months, without any help. Each note was first played on an electric guitar before being added to the score. What you hear is therefore a simulation of what you would hear if they were played by a real orchestra. Here, you have 21 instruments: two pianos, two violins, two violas, eleven cellos, and four voices in the choir.

Ignis

The march is over. 'Traces' is the sound of the arrival. This is the 'calm before the storm,' a beatless, suspended "breath-hold" before the album's emotional climax. The 'mechanical' world is gone, replaced by a 'glowing,' "charged" atmosphere. The Kalimba returns, a 'questioning' whisper—the first 'trace' of the memory, 'knocking on the door.' Above it all, the Cello is no longer 'fighting' or 'marching,' but 'singing' a beautiful, lyrical, and searching melody in the stillness. It's the sound of pure, tense anticipation.

This is the 'flood.' The 'calm' of the previous track breaks, and the 'memory' bursts open. The Cello 'steps through the door' and is met by a 'cascading' flood of celestial Kalimba notes. This is the 'Atlas of Whispers'—a beatless, timeless, and soaring 'vision.' The Cello's voice is at its most passionate, a pure, orchestral catharsis. Then, the 'vision' completes. The beat returns, and the 'self' (the 'Persist' theme) is 'transformed,' fused with the memory's power. This is not just a climax; it is a 'transformation.

The Flood

The 'flood' has receded. The climax is over. 'Traces of Salt' is the sound of the 'aftermath'—the beautiful, quiet 'resonance' left behind. Beatless and reflective, the track is a peaceful "afterglow" of shimmering, warm pads. The Cello is no longer 'striving'; it's 'resolved,' singing a final, peaceful duet with the 'crystalline' Kalimba. This is the sound of the memory, no longer a 'flood,' but a 'trace'—a quiet, bittersweet catharsis.

Traces of Salt

The 'celestial' journey is over. 'Stale' is the sound of 'The Return to Reality.' The 'mechanical' beat of life resumes, not as a 'fight,' but as a 'familiar pulse.' The 'fading' memory (the Cello and Kalimba) is no longer 'floating' or 'ghostly'; it is now 'grounded' and 'integrated,' its 'stale' looping fragments locked into the 'on-grid' rhythm. This is the sound of 'pensive acceptance'—the 'echo' of the journey, now a permanent, "worn" part of the 'mechanical' present.

Summertime Sadness

The 'mechanical' loop fades, and the 'return to reality' is complete. This is 'The Final Exhale.' The album's journey resolves into a beatless, peaceful "release." The Cello, the 'self,' offers one final, "resolved" statement. The Kalimba, the 'memory,' echoes with a last 'crystalline' chime—the final 'trace' "fading from your lips." The "mechanical" world is gone, the "celestial" vision has faded, and all that remains is the 'ambient stone'—the room, now at peace, transformed by the journey as it fades to silence.
