Where did you record this mix and what did you have in mind while recording it?
"I recorded this mix in my living room, thinking of the past half year we just had. The set feels to me like a mix of tension and relief, like the difficult journey we all just led to finally get to summer."

How would you describe your sound in general?
"Hmm that's always a hard one.. I'd describe my sound as eclectic, sometimes chaotic, always emotional."

What are you looking forward to the most this year?
"Nation of Gondwana ! Can't wait to be djing outside again. And I have been working on my first release that will likely come out this year too."

Where did you record this mix and what did you have in mind while recording it?
"I recorded the mix at home. That day I had an ultra stressful day at work, the sun was shining, my vacation started and I wanted to transport a vibe in my set that reminds of good weather, open airs, cold long drinks with little umbrellas and being together with friends."

How would you describe your sound in general?
"Mostly uplifting 90ies house music with Detroit, hiphop and R&B influences, broken beats and pads. I do really love pads."

What are you looking forward to the most this year?
"To hopefully many hot open airs, to dancing with friends, to being together and of course to DJing again (in front of people)!!!"

Where did you record this mix and what did you have in mind while recording it?
"I recorded this mix at home in South London. I wanted to do something that had a lot of energy. Coming out of the pandemic a lot of people are sitting on pent up energy which will hopefully turn into a release on the dancefloor."

How would you describe your sound in general?
"The New Dance Show."

What are you looking forward to the most this year?
"Releasing new music."

Where did you record this mix and what did you have in mind while recording it?
"I recorded this mix in the main room of Motel Campo in Geneva, my favourite club and where I’m happy to be a resident. It was at the end of the afternoon. The windows there are yellow and the light was so strong that the whole room was very flashy. I had the sun in my back so it felt really warm. I played an energetic, joyful and vibrant set, where I could find all the sonorities I love the most. I thought about recreating a nice dancefloor energy, with music that makes me smile, with the hope this would be soon our reality again :)"

How would you describe your sound in general?
"I imagine my sound as being a vector of positivity and empowerment. Dreamy but powerful at the same time! With beautiful textures and some spoken words here and there. The big picture would be my definition of « cosmic », transcending styles somehow.
If we are talking about styles, I would say it is a fusion between trance, techno, new beat, space disco, EBM, and italo disco :)"

What are you looking forward to the most this year?
"I’m looking forward to being able to dance again with all my friends! :)
I am also very excited to continue working on my label Proxima, we have a few upcoming releases very soon! I’m really excited about it!"

SMASH PATRIARCHY - happy queer feminist day!

 The techno and club culture wants to be a place for everyone. At the same time, the reproduction of isms is very present in the scene and marginalized groups and FLINTA stand behind white men in the second row or are only allowed to watch from the edge of the pool. We are happy to see that a shift is slowly emerging and that more and more FLINTA are on the decks. Still, there is still a lot to be done. With this set, we also reflected on our own role in the scene and how we contribute to maintaining the status quo: The music we consume and play is mostly produced by men. That's more than a shame because there are so many strong FLINTA producers - you can now hear some of them in this set, which for us is a very personal one. The destruction of the patriarchal chart is at the top of our agenda and we are glad that we can contribute a part with our music to get closer to this goal.

Die Techno- und Clubkultur möchte ein Ort für alle sein. Gleichzeitig ist in der Szene Reproduktion von Ismen sehr präsent und marginalisierte Gruppen und FLINTA stehen hinter weißen Männern in der zweiten Reihe oder dürfen nur vom Beckenrand aus zuschauen. Wir sind froh zu beobachten, dass langsam ein Shift entsteht und immer mehr FLINTA an den Decks stehen. Trotzdem gibt es noch viel zu tun. Mit diesem Set haben wir auch unsere eigene Rolle in der Szene reflektiert und wie wir dazu beitragen, den Status Quo zu erhalten: Die Musik, die wir konsumieren und spielen, ist meist von Männern produziert. Das ist mehr als schade, weil es so viele starke FLINTA-Produzent*innen gibt – einige davon könnt ihr nun in diesem Set hören, das für uns ein sehr persönliches ist. Die Zerstörung des Patriacharts steht ganz oben auf unserer Tagesordnung und wir sind froh, dass wir mit unserer Musik einen Teil dazubeitragen können, diesem Ziel näher zu kommen.

LAIDA behind the decks. Motivated by her twin sister d fako, with whom she
DJs as duo double U, she brings more female power to the Hamburg DJ
scene and focuses her sound on a selection of house, tech house, 90s and
2000s inspired breakbeats, as well as melodic techno.

Acidfinky (she/they) is a German/Algerian DJ and producer based in Berlin. She is a Golden Pudel (Hamburg) and THF Radio resident, member of the feminist collective BLVSH and founder of Twisting Knobs Records. She usually plays “crispy
sounds”, an umbrella term she uses to define heavy basslines combined with sharp drums and ear candy.

Everything is constantly in motion, life is process, yesterday is different than today and tomorrow has already changed again. Similarly, the sound of Josepha is constantly evolving. The newcomer, Berlin resident, co-founder of Fluid Festival and 1/2 of the DJ duo Power GmbH, currently lives and works in New York and musically processes her impressions and the new attitude towards life in her mix for radio 80k. She moves somewhere between hard groove, acid house, hard dance and technoid trance - and enjoys getting lost in the exploration of new genres. Nevertheless, it's easy to guess her passion for fast, hard and bouncing techno too. Selectively used vocals give her sets a unique touch and guide themselves through her sets like a golden thread.
