The Armory Podcast has been woefully short on female artists, an oversight we intend to correct beginning with this week’s special guest. In her hometown of Orlando and across North America they call her “The Bass Queen”. She's an accomplished DJ and producer and runs her own label, “Bad Baby”. She is the talented and lovely, Baby Anne, and we’re thrilled to have her in The Armory this week. Now Press play. And get down!

Baby Anne aka "The Bass Queen" has blazed a Trail across North America and Beyond with her DJ sets and Original Productions. Her signature recipe is a delicious fusion of high energy Electro Breaks and Miami Bass seasoned with funky beats and driving bass lines. Her musical influences range from Miami Bass stalwarts Dynamix II and AfroRican, to overseas tunes by Kraftwerk & 808 State, from statesides DJ Icey and Information Society to a host of Funky Freestyle records from back in the day!

Baby Anne is known not only as a DJ but also a recording artist, having dropped loads of tracks on her own Bad Baby record label and DJ Icey's Zone Records Imprint as well as other labels. Her latest single "Baby Vicious", on Bad Baby is rocking dance floors across the country. Baby Anne has pounded out 14 Mix Cds, all of which have charted on the Billboard Soundscan Electronic Top 50 album chart from 1999's "BassQueen in the Mix" to last year's  release, "Beauty of The Beats".   Baby Anne is currently on tour promoting her latest CD release, "Disturbing the Beats".

DJ Joey Blanco's Bio : 
Meet Joey Delzingaro. A DJ whose story mirrors many a successful DJ’s, maybe even yours…
A child of the 80s, he begins DJing at 13 years old, drawn to the breakbeats and floor wars of the b-boy scene. He meets and is mentored by freestyle impresario Ziggy Gonzalez (producer of Coro’s #1 "Where Are You Tonight”), travels from NYC to Miami promoting for labels such as Micmac Records and Cutting Records, and eventually returns to Orlando where he establishes himself as a well-respected club DJ and concert promoter.
But there’s a little more to Joey’s story: Joey is almost totally deaf.
“I was introduced to the music scene in the early 90s,” says Joey. “But I always had trouble being in a crowd. I wasn’t very social because of my hearing. I couldn’t ask everyone to repeat themselves a hundred times just so I could understand them. So I basically withdrew and suffered in silence as I watched my friends succeed in the DJ industry.”
That all changed in 2016 when a friend asked Joey if he’d consider DJing for a party. “I was a little hesitant at first but I went ahead and played at the party and that reignited a flame that was once bright.”
They said I couldn’t DJ because I couldn’t hear.
But I wouldn’t listen.
Inspired anew, Joey bought two brand new turntables and a mixer and spent the next year and a half experimenting with a variety of digital setups before discovering Traktor.
“That was it for me. I learned to read waveforms while stomping my foot as a human metronome and to use amplified headphones to feel bass pressure. That allowed me to utilize what little hearing I have left to be able to mix.”
With the encouragement of childhood friend Derek Steplight aka DJ D-XTREME, Joey has since become a mainstay of the downtown Orlando club scene.

Originally from the Midwest, in her home state of Missouri, living in Kansas City, an area mostly known for House Music, and Drum N Bass; the Flurwerker found herself more attracted to the broken beat styles of Drum N Bass, Breaks, and mainly ELECTRO, specifically the Florida sound; which prompted her to throw events in Kansas City, booking many of Florida's finest BREAKS and DNB artists. She has performed not only around Florida but also states, such as; Florida, Kansas, Missouri, Mississippi, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Colorado. She started as a professional promoter, throwing events since 1999. Then picked up the skill; vinyl trained; since 2001 and then started on the production side in 2015; with her mentor J&H. She really found true affinity in the Electro-Breaks sound coming out of the South Florida scenes so much so that she decided to pack her bags and make the long journey to the 808 state where she now resides in the Tampa Bay area so she could further enhance her skills in the Electro Bass realms that's made Florida famous!
