definitely a great learning experience in terms of playing live, was overall v fun for a debut. mixer was playing up at the beginning and distorting a tad, but goes away once it warms up.

Way back in the before times we started our little podcast and after a few months we thought it would be nice to start inviting guests who were good at the ol DJing thing. Timo was our first one and we're super happy to have him back in '23 for pt.2 of him doing his thang.

Noods Radio - Plantera - 16.08.23

Lezure is a collective from Glasgow which has since risen to prominence in numerous cities. Energetic, fun filled parties with a focus on spotlighting both local and international DJ’s to great effect.

Over the years they have booked and supported a steady stream of artists who have since gone on to do great things. Lezure as a collective are very much tastemakers in their own right.

From a musical perspective the sounds that they have pushed are pretty broad – however it has never necessarily been about hype and the importance of each guest and their approach to DJ’ing remains pivotal in making the party what it is.

Calum, aka Sloan, is one of the key figures behind the long running party series and brings with him a reputable array of knowledge across a broad spectrum of Electronic music.

When we saw the tracklist for this one we were pretty stoked as we feel it represents both the proper thinking sensibilities of the Lezure crew as much as it does the party orientated gang they are known for.

 I was at a local beach club on the lac Sevan in Armenia, hanging out with people that all had blurry faces. Suddenly, I felt a familiar presence entering the garden. The feeling was weird, as I suddenly had the impression of being split apart. When I looked behind me, I saw an older version of myself slowly running to me.

Now is the time for one of the original men behind Flux to step up to the podcast plate. Jacques is a long standing resident and co-runner of Flux. With a distinctive collection of records carefully tailored to each dance floor, he has made appearances at some of the UK's most respected parties such as Back to Basics and Louche to name a few. He has also played at Festivals far and wide, such as Glastonbury, Dimensions, Festival Number 6, Snowbombing and more recently The Garden Festival.

This podcast is a selection of tracks, both old and new. The mix starts deep and turns more upbeat taking the listener on a journey through various styles of house and techno.

Ahead of our party with her at the end of the month we have a very special podcast from none other than the mercurial D. Tiffany. 

We're stoked to be hosting this mix from the Montreal based artist, as she seamlessly takes us through a percussive trip spanning downtempo joints, deep rolling breaks, techy wiggles and tranced out techno cuts. It's a colourful sound palette that reflects both Sophie's strengths as a producer, DJ and label head, with her influences spanning a broad range of sonic textures.

Today’s episode is about the art of vulnerability, featuring New York based ambient producer, new age instrumentalist, and holistic practitioner, @Laraaji. 

Active since the 1970s, Laraaji’s work is influenced by Eastern mysticism and a cosmic consciousness. Perhaps best known for his ambient and new age experiments with the autoharp, the piano, and the mbira, his deeply emotional music is often improvised, allowing him to fully open up his means of expression — something that he encourages in all artists. Balancing his musical endeavours with work as a holisitic health practitioner, he hosts laughter meditation workshops in New York; spiritual experiences that explore the childlike joy of letting go and being vulnerable, a fundamental in his life as an artist.
