"Bon Jon Jovi" (live demo version, recorded 1/5/2013) is song 4 of 5 in the JFRocks New Year's 2013 Erica's Living Room recording sessions. As I said in the note for the previous song "Eggless Omelette" we recorded a total of 5 songs between Jan 1, and Jan 7 2013 in JFRocks.com's own Erica Reese's Living Room. She has this awesome house up in the Hollywood Hills that not only gets a great tone because of the old wood floors and thick walls, but there's also a vibe to the house that's almost palpable. 

Since this upload is the live demo version, for the best sound quality I STRONGLY SUGGEST you download the MP3 rather than play it through the SoundCloud player.

"Bon Jon Jovi" as the title would suggest is a take off on the style of "Bon Jovi", and is loosely based on their classic "Living on a Prayer", however that's not really what it's supposed to be about. These types of close parody's are done all the time, especially on TV. The chorus of our song for example Vs Living on a Prayer moves in a totally different direction and is almost a hook riff of its own in many ways.. And I also applied a lot of cool stereo Flanging, and a killer guitar solo that blends melodic with shred in a nice clean easy to listen to package.. As a technical note I actually improvised the solo, but what you're hearing is take 2 because I cleaned up my original improv to make it a little tighter. Other than that this song was played totally live, 2 guitars, bass, and drum track.

"Bon Jon Jovi" originated from us jamming Bon Jovi cover songs to warm up one morning. 2 hours later we had this hot mess of a just for fun little track.. LOL... 

Well hot mess may be a bit too harsh, all kidding aside we all thought it was a cool song and came out pretty good for a goof around session..
