The Greens Are Red grasps the altered state and by way of marimba affirmations, reestablishes consciousness at the moment before being lead by the piano to the flute’s triumphant return, the rhythm wrestling hold again of the restraint to fling Deosil back into its headlong pursuit of time.

March is a further turn in tone and pace with resonant motifs that carry the sound of this EP to its moment  of clarification, as inspiration demands the melody’s assertion, which then lingers. As an invocation, it’s an emotional, yearning piece of music with a lilting urgency to progress further and truly soar, and perhaps the secret of Deosil is in the lull of deeper, further esoteric sound chambers.

Another six selections from the Fly High archives, including material from forthcoming projects on the label in 2021, one-off dubplate specials and previously unheard versions of some of our extensive catalogue. As always we have a heavy representation of some of the best in new Irish music alongside members of the Fly High Society family.

An eclectic mix of sounds that defines the label is encapsulated in this second volume of the Fly High Sampler series, featuring original Fly High members such as Bolts, releasing on the label for the first time in 5 years, and Italian rap/drill powerhouse HLMNSRA remixing God Knows wrestling anthem 'VHS 3:16'. Fly High Londoners They Call Me Raptor and Tre'bore get the remix treatment from Irish 5 piece Aratita Electronik Jazz Quintet, and rounding out the release are fellow countrymen MuRli, God Knows and SertOne.

AEJQ return to the Fly High camp to deliver their unique strain of jazz prophecies, synthesized using future technologies thru the lens of Irish folk tradition. Following hot on the heels of 2 EPs (Deosil & Sinnen) and a feature on the FHS Vol 2 sampler, all in the last 5 months, the mysterious 5-piece are setting out their stall and proving themselves to be a juggernaut of the new jazz frontier.

Wasting no time, Ubaid kicks off proceedings with driving breakbeats underpinning ethereal synths as the lone voice of a siren calls us ashore, until the script gets flipped with a loping full-fat bassline over half-time drum fills.

Uruk delivers ghostly vocal incantations over a sombre piano refrain, a tranquil sea only disturbed once waves of rhythm crest and crash and pound - think Bristol basements circa '91.

Next up is Akkadian & it's one for the sombre steppahs. Swaying to-and-fro from eire-ey strings to tripped out synths, all sewn together with a sparse 2-step beat and a snare that absolutely slaps.

Gutian closes out this 4-tracker, upping the tempo and lashing a healthy level of cassette-tape warp over dynamic pianos and sax loops. Throw this in the middle of a jungle set and it wouldn't seem out of place.

Though this quintet are yet to reveal themselves in their physical form, their incantations speak for themselves, and it's clear that Aratita is a force to be reckoned with.
