contacted me about 2 years ago and offered me a baseline stem from an Alpha Roots collaboration he was working on with Joerxworx. About 2 years ago, that is crazy! I, of course, said I would take the stem. I needed to finish some other songs that were in the works before getting to play with Alpha Roots’s baseline. By the time I was ready to connect with the vibe, Russia had invaded Ukraine, unfathomable tragedy had begun, and the world was changing again. My song writing reflected the horror of what was going on. By the time all the stems were gathered, vocals were recorded, and the song was mixed and mastered, another war had broken out and the horror continued. 

Massive thanks to Mountain Songs for  trusting me with these blessed Alpha Roots stems. So glad Jamie, Jonathan, Joerxworx, and Russ got a chance to work with Alpha Roots again. Alpha Roots lives on. 

And the song is ready just in time for Halloween!

Jeff (a.k.a. Stonerjazz, @user-911083679) sent me a sneak peak of his now released 'Anthology II' track that also featured TexMex Shaman. I couldn't get enough of the poem, titled Euphoria, that was featured in the second half. So I asked him if I could also work with the vocal track and do my own mix. Jeff's words always seem to resonate with me, and I thought this would be a fun kind of experimental trippy dream pop piece to kick off the new year. Happy 2024 all!

Hey… Thanks for dropping by. This new song is a melding of several ideas, maybe too many for one song: Second chances in life, idyllic places to live, regrets, dreams, satori, changes we experience in our lives that change us, and relationships. Years ago, a friend visited me after I had moved far away from the city to the mountains. It had been a while. He went back home and told everyone that I had really mellowed. Ha. For context: I do not live by the sea, although I have been to many different coastal places in my lifetime. Musically, I suspect this song will evolve into many different versions. I already have three versions, all recorded in the last couple weeks. I chose this one to post because while snow shoveling the other day, this version was stuck in my head, which surprised me, because I like the Blues version better. There is an enigmatic version where I sing a couple bars in another language… and no one recognizes me. I put that one on the back burner as I need to flesh it out some more. I just love sound ..allsorts across the genre's ...hate getting stuck on one tip for too long ,been thru quite alot of eras &..have always from an early age written or jammed my own pieces of music..+ written poetry + lyric to songs ,i play guitar + produce ambient pieces on analogue units Roland tb 303 ,101,202,606,Juno 60. Was in my own bands years ago from about 1981 post punk era,dance electro stuff ,then ole skool scene when it was newskool,into drum n base era as it was happening...did pirate station stuff ,love dub reggae,great times..just carry on writing songs on acoustic guitar & do regular open mike sessions around my local area + jammin with other muse'os ...into  hho tec ....hydrogen...~  energy ...~ water is our future coal field.bit of an inventor..into unity ..autonomy n peace ..., peace out  ; )...~
