2023 has unarguably been a great year for Electro both with overall visibility for the public as well as with the sheer number of quality releases being put out over the year. With a newfound buzz surrounding my beloved genre, I'm hardly keeping up! I feel like It was a busy year both production-wise and promotion-wise for @DVSNME and @DarkScienceElectro respectively, however, I found some time to put together a mix of my personal favorite tracks from 2023. On his first release since 2014, @DVSNME has self-released a 15 track album featuring some of his most inspired music to date. This full-length effort pays homage to the traditional musical scales of Asian countries like Japan and China with a sonically varied collection of tracks that will leave the listener wanting more. The title of the album is a not-so-subtle nod to Electro pioneers Kraftwerk's 1977 'Trans Europe Express', with the album cover paying tribute to the Japanese art form of 'Nyotaimori', in which sushi or sashimi is served from the naked body of a woman. The album relies heavily on the sounds of classic Electro machines like Mono/Poly, MS-20, SH-101, Jupiter-8, Juno-106, JX-3P, TB-303, Polysix, TR-606, OB-8, TR-808, ARP Odyssey, and TR-909. DVS NME is the man behind the weekly radio show/daily blog called 'Dark Science Electro' and has been a dedicated contributor for the Electro community for the last 10 years. He shares his love of Electro music by posting Electro-affiliated news, art, mixes, albums, memes, concerts, tracks, gear and more. This album is available for $14 USD.

@Krypton81 was formed by Per Lind & Martin Stoffregen. The Danish duo is a fusion of DJ and a producer joining forces in creating Electro music sound and concept. 

The Inspiration comes from Technology, Occultism and space travel. The sound is dark and melodic and the live act is dynamic, energetic and improvised.

Dark Science Electro presents: Krypton 81 (live set)

FM label reconnects music, fashion and design. Established in 2019 by Milan Fatrla, label joins the flourishing scene of Prague with a vision of a music, in which the new revisits the old. A vision where strongly-rooted love for hip-hop merges with passion for everything electronic and danceable, to offer records where these two genres meet and reconnect. Every release offers a set of tracks which provide options for the DJ: dance floor slammers, broken synthesis and acapellas DJ tools. 

With its modular attitude, FM label plays with norms of record sleeve design and fashion. In its first phase the label will put out three trilogies, each trilogy in a different package developed with local designers and artists. 

First release by Credit 00, including a remix and an acapella from the mighty Egyptian Lover, is held in a cardboard sleeve which can be reshaped into a vinyl display holder.

More from 2008.  This was produced for a free compilation (can't remember the name but I know Direct Control and Kalson were compiling it)

It's a combination of the Bat Man samples from Itchi Ban Scratch and the Blue Velvet sample made famous by The Hypnotist in his 1992 classic, Pioneers Of The Warped Groove. (RIP)

𝓕𝓜 is a fluid space adjusted for polysensory ways to perceive sounds aimed for the club and for the head. Waves in the air, objects in the hands – impeccably modulated and crafted beforehand. 

𝓕𝓜 mines sonic fossil fuels from the acidic ancient seas and lets current streams of club subconsciousness give rise to complex units of art. 

While 𝓕𝓜 commonly stands for Frequency Modulation, the label aims to shift the modulatory principle to manifest at all levels of the output - from the sleeve to the sound and beyond.
