Bass Coast Festival ( @bass-c0ast ) was by far one of the best experiences I’ve had attending and playing at a festival and to make it even better , so many friends I hadn’t seen in so long were there to share that experience with! Huge shoutout to @librarianmusic & The Bass Coast Street Team for such a well run festival and for the hospitality (lost my wallet and they found it within an hour 😅). Was an honour to be asked to do the BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix. I grew up listening to the Essential Mix and still can’t quite believe I got to do my own. The basic idea was to make a soundtrack of my life over the past 20 years and weave it all into some kind of journey. Didn’t see myself mixing MJ Cole’s ‘Crazy Love’ with a Chick Corea record but it happened… and The Streets ‘Has It Come To This?’ with Arkist’s ‘Fill Your Coffee.’ That Artkist tune was the song that made me want to start producing - I used to play it on repeat whilst living in Brighton in 2011 - still sounds fresh in 2024 I think. I ended the mix with a new song of mine called Ojai. Big thank you to Pete Tong and Radio 1 for having me. Enjoy!

I've been hosting a radio show on WSUM 91.7 FM, the student-run station based in Madison, Wisconsin, since May of 2018—but I haven’t posted any recordings until now.  This is something a little different from anything I have put up in the past so I thought I would share. Stay tuned for upcoming volumes....

Every Thursday night at 8 PM Central Time, I DJ live from the WSUM studio. As a UW Madison alumni, it’s great to stay connected with the school. I try to capture a different vibe each week, often pulling in old tracks I haven’t heard in a while—not just focusing on the latest releases. Everything is done live and on the fly, based on whatever I’m feeling.

This isn’t a polished mix or an edited radio set. I talk a few times during the hour to let listeners know what’s playing. I figured I would keep it raw, even if not perfect.

This was a really special set because we had all of our friends with us. I brought a lot of first time burners out to the Playa this year. The whole Robot Heart crew took care of us all, and we got to see a lot of the art while I played. This year I collaborated with the team behind Embrace on the Space Whale project.

Hope you enjoy the mix, I mess up a few times but it doesn’t really matter because the vibe was so awesome and so real.

I want to thank Robot Heart and everyone at Burning Man. I especially want to thank all of the artists who put a whole year of work and funding into creating all of the magical art we get to enjoy on what’s probably the coolest canvas in the whole world aka the Playa.
