For the 130th episode of our podcast series, we have the honor to host a podcast from the amazingSpanish artist and owner of the legendary label SEMANTICA: Svreca!

From Deep and Mental techno to some more hypnotic and trippy textures, Svreca offers us a unique sonic journey, where precision meets emotion, guiding the listener through shadowy beats and abstract sound, designed for a long introspective travel.

Few artists can match the influence that Enrique Mena, AKA Svreca, and his label Semantica have had on contemporary techno. With over 20 years in the DJ booth, 200-plus releases on the label and some acclaimed original productions and remixes, Svreca has spearheaded techno’s second generation, helping maintain Madrid as an international hub for deep and driving sounds. 

As a DJ, Svreca draws from a wide sonic palette that includes noise, dub, avant-garde electronics, electro and, of course, techno. First, it was luminaries like Angel Molina and Oscar Mulero that inspired him; since then he has made it his mission to survey the scene and connect with its most original artists. He funnels these influences into a powerful techno sound for body and mind: immersive, textural and rhythmically complex. Whether in an open-air festival setting or a blistering, pitch-back basement, Svreca’s sets—always delivered with technical precision—are a psychedelic, physical experience. 

His sets are also inextricably linked to Semantica. It’s a two way relationship: the label has become a consistently excellent breeding ground for new talent, as well as home to some of techno’s finest artists. Equally, Svreca draws inspiration from shared moments on a dance floor to fuel the label’s creative direction. From its austere aesthetic (designed by Mena himself) to its boundless exploration of new formats, Semantica encapsulates the heady spirit of experimental techno. 

Across all Svreca's means of expression, one thing is a constant: the music comes first. Less talking, more doing. It’s a formula he has stood by, and delivered the quality of music needed to back it up.

An electronic music duo from Macedonia, currently based in Skopje. The name Binary Thoughts may speak for itself, but there is a much deeper meaning embedded within.
The ancestral way of thinking has always been 'binary'. To understand nature and all its phenomena, we made a world of oppositions (day/night, sun/moon, male/female). Where the law of "all or nothing” rules, there is no in-between. But the reality is indeed always more complex and more interconnected than what our 'perception' of the world suggests.
This perception beyond this “all or nothing” connected Ana Bogatinovska and Jovana Gjorgievska. At first strangers to each other, they met at a music festival in their native country; And after a long discussion about electronic music, they've decided to do a project that will connect their somewhat different but similar taste in electronic music.
Their melancholic, delicate and hypnotic sounds use 'binary thinking' as a motor to press on to a third term or a higher category that represents a transcending reconciliation or unity: where thesis and antithesis are always harnessed to yield a synthesis. Where seemingly opposite or contrary forces may actually be complementary: Yin and Yang.
Currently, they are exploring the vast horizons of deep and hypnotic soundscapes, intending to create their unique blend of creativity to start releasing their music.

Luigi Tozzi (live) - Upclose 2025

True to their deep, widescreen approach to both production and live-performing, Parisian outfit Atomic Moog clock in with a helluva sleek and lushly relief’d mix, recorded on the occasion of their latest live performance at Outre Bleu on March 29. Through their releases for the likes of Delsin, Appian, Lowless or Monument, the French duo has been carving a niche for itself at the fringes of the dubbed-out techno tradition and abstract-leaning experimentality. This 90 minutes jaunt into their reverb and delay-heavy imaginarium has us moving across narrow corridors and cathedral-large spaces by turn, exploring the concept of spatialization in dance music under a new, boundary-pushing light. Through focal-shifting jumps between acid-drenched beds of rippling analogue sine waves and sizzling machine circuitry, the constant angle shifts from macro to micro tell a tale of vibrant sound research, not quite picking a side between the dance floor’s sense of purpose and genre-unbound, creative unintentionality.

This time our guest on CBDSH series is Viels from Italy with a fabulous outer space mix! Known for his superb productions on established techno labels and music selections as a DJ, this mix a showcase in deepness that fits the ethos of DSH like a glove. Drop everything else for the next 69 minutes and enjoy the ride.

Bio:
Class 1990, Viels was born in a little city outside Milan (Italy). Early in his adolescence he discovered techno culture inspired by a book called “TECHNO“ by Christian Zingales. Having released his first Ep on Initial Berlin in 2015, Viels continued his musical path appearing with a track on the well respected dutch imprint Dynamic Reflection, followed by his debut ep “Distrophism” and contributing for the 10 years anniversary of the label, among some of the most recognised artists in the scene : Donato Dozzy, Mike Parker, Shifted, Oscar Mulero, Blawan, Ness, Jeroen Search and many more.
Co-owner with Francesco della Sala of “End Of Perception”, Viels just released also on label such Warm Up, Non Series, Mord, and Semantica Records.
At the moment he is resident of the Acquario party in Milano and an active part of the organization of it.
With an increasing interest and having performed in quality clubs like Tresor, Perron, Cassette, Schron and shared the booth with the likes of Oscar Mulero, Svreca and Dasha Rush to name a few, Viels is establishing himself as part of a new wave of djs and producers approaching the contemporary techno scene.

Deep x Heights 42 - Petra Yelda

The series are back after some much needed vacay and next one up is Petra Yelda, an interersting artist who we got familiar with in Gothenburg just some time ago. 
In a dark and sweaty warehouse we were lucky to catch her playing, she gave us this knockout closing set, the one where you cannat stop danceing not even for toilet breaky. She created this magical, explosive vibe and the closing included everything one wish for; the selection of tracks, flow and dynamic mixing and the connection with the floor, it was gold!
We are therefore very happy and proud to present her mix in the series!

Bio:
Petra Yelda is a Swedish techno DJ and producer with roots from Middle East. By experiencing dancefloors across Europe, she quickly grew a deeper music interest. With a distinctive style that blends driving hypnotic rhythms, Petra has earned respect locally and has made a name for herself within the underground scene in Gothenburg.

Her artistic journey began as a DJ in underground clubs in Gothenburg, where she co-founded collectives such as Nycto and later Xtnd’d/Razor.

This year has led her to take further steps in Europe by playing in Denmark, Germany and Italy. She has landed a residency at the respected record label OECUS and is also resident for Gothenburg collective STRECK.
