q. pls introduce yourself

I’m a composer/producer from Bristol (UK). My work usually employs electroacoustic & modern classical composition as well as computer music approaches. I write film scores & create installations alongside my personal projects, there is a lot of crossover. My last score was for filmmaker Elia Ferroli and my last album was ‘Care’ (LP, 2020).
I’ve just released my EP ‘Untitled Ghosts 18-21’ with the Bristol label ANE, six electroacoustic vignettes of synths, piano & tape arrangements.

q. is there a story behind the mix?

The mix is comprised of things that have directly influenced the latest EP, as well as a couple of my own pieces. There’s a lot of piano in there too, as I’ve been integrating the instrument into my current compositions more than usual.

q. what's the best way enjoy your mix?

Best enjoyed alone, probably whilst walking or travelling by yourself with headphones or just having a quiet moment. A bit like the EP, it was a process of expelling negative attachments as though they were ghosts; suffering, thoughts, abstractions etc.

q. describe a favourite object in your living room...

Favourite thing in my living room is my clock. There used to be a tree outside my window when I was growing up, which had to be cut down. I was upset at the time so my mum had a section of the trunk made into a clock for me. There are layers of sentimentality to it.

q. are you working on any projects right now (music or not music)?

I’ve been recording piano improvisations and I’m sitting on a bunch of more power ambient-leaning works. I’m also recording & producing another artist’s work (Soufian Saihi) for my upcoming label ‘Spectral Editions’; a home for traditional instrumentalists, modern classical & experimental electronic compositions. Will probably also find a place for my current piano works on there too.

In the hands of laboratory professionals, substances combine with one another, reshaping and receiving a new formula. Andrey Kostyukov, one of the greatest masters of transformation and transfiguration, is our guest today.


Andriy Kostyukov is a Kyiv-born and Prague-based electronic musician and dj.
First of all, his attention is devoted to creating music. Andriy skillfully combines Experimental Bass and IDM. His exclusive works could be heard at Paris Fashion Week 2019 and at many leading events in Ukraine. Some of the key ones were the “Brudnyy Pes” and “Na Chasi” festivals in Kyiv, “ODS” in Odesa and “Voyage Culturel” in Kharkiv. Speaking of dj sets, Andriy has established a strong musical position between trippy techno and upbeat glitch Bass stuff. His selection was appreciated in the club ∄ (Kyiv), Re:mise (Berlin), Fitzroy (Berlin), Ankali (Prague), Vitamin (Brno), Kultura Zvuku (Kharkiv), Otel' (Kyiv).
He is a co-organizer of the Motsion — one of the first musical events that began charitable activities in Kyiv after the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine.
