Spawned in 2015 as an experimental dive into cinematic techno, @cvnsumed has since grown to become the phenomenal project we now know of today.

Designed to evoke the same emotions as those experienced when watching your future favourite film for the first time, CVNSUMED experiments with a variety of genres, from EBM to OST, Drum & Bass to Techno, before blending them together to form his evocative screenplay. Together with ZNZL and San-Ju Ni, he founded Demain Records with the goal of promoting this particular sound to even wider audiences.

Paris born, Berlin-based DJ and producer Human Experiments delivers hypnotic, genre-bending techno with cinematic flair. Forged in 2015's Parisian warehouses and Berlin kinky Stimulation parties since 2020, the project melds orchestral textures and industrial grit with stripped-back, cerebral grooves.

Expect deep, Dub techno-inducing soundscapes infused with tribal rhythms and machine-like precision. Human Experiments crafts immersive sonic rituals that keep dancers locked in a state of heightened awareness.

While rooted in techno's minimalist ethos, the selections traverse a fluid spectrum of electronic styles. From ambient interludes to pummeling peak-time fare, this sonic alchemist defies easy categorization, constantly pushing boundaries to create transcendent dancefloor experiences.

With releases on labels like 47, ARTS, RAW and Demian Records CVNSUMED has built a solid reputation in the scene. His tracks have been supported by artists such as Alarico, Justine Perry, Koboyo, JKS, Hadone, DJ Stingray among others.

Lately, his focus has shifted towards a more stripped-back aesthetic, keeping the same clean, impactful sound at its core.

production notes:
This started out with a narrative I wrote for the track about a lone figure that awoke without memory in a cave that appeared to be sentient, and inhabited ravers entranced by strange relics. The usual psychedelic trope stuff. I recorded the vocals myself, and used them to inform the initial arrangement of the track. It became evident that the story would result in a evolving and winding musical expedition. However, my voice really didn't suit it. So I used elevenlabs to generate a new AI version of the vocals - that are used here. Later I stripped most of the vocals out, however the story they informed is now the song.

Each track I make offers new challenges.. here I really wanted to shift genres and sounds a lot. It sounds quite basic, but there's a lot going on here from a bassline that absolutely isn't traditional psytrance (although the base pattern is inspired by "Robotoised" by Quirk), to shifting from saw bass, to square wave, to switching the whole thing up in to a Brazil-inspired shponglised breakdown - considering I had no knowledge of this musical style, let alone how to produce it. However the real challenge was finishing this track. The arrangement has been 'complete' for months now with me tweaking and trying to polish it up enough to release it. 

I also decided to make this a multi-part song. Again, inspired by Shpongle albums where tracks eb and flow between each other. Part 2 of this isn't included here, but I hope I can make it become a full mixed album. Something for later.
