From Yesterdays people, right up to Today's people.' Artists featured include Andy Bey, Phil Ranelin, Tony Allen, Sun Ra, Jeen Bassa and Paul White. The half-Mauritian, half-English producer, singer and percussionist had a trilogy of EPs for One-Handed Music that mixed soul, dub, hip-hop, various electronic styles and the Sega music native to Mauritius. We continue 25 years of Solid Steel with a mix from Photek, a legendary figure in music since the early nineties who featured many times on the show with tracks from Modus Operadi, Form & Function up to Pyramid from his recent album Ku:Palm, plus 'Into the 90's' from 1994 that also featured on Coldcut's Journeys by DJ mix CD. As ever we wanted something different and this mix titled 'Solid Steel Skool Dayz' suggests the music he listened to growing up with classic tracks from Gwen McCrae, ELO, Roxy Music, Inner Life and Joyce Sims.

Rob Glassett, better known as Fold is a London based music producer influenced by his teenage immersion in the cities pirate radio, raving and record collecting culture in the late 90's and early 2000’s. 

CRob Glassett, better known as Fold is a London based music producer influenced by his teenage immersion in the city's pirate radio, raving and record shop culture in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. 

Co-founder and A&R of East London’s forward leaning Well Street Records imprint he has released his own productions on labels such as Aus Music, Electric Minds, Shall Not Fade, ManMakeMusic and Well Street Records (under the Robert Fleck moniker) maintaining his position as a key player in the underground of UK nightlife for nearly 15 years. 

Aside from being a talented producer Rob is a prolific DJ having played at venues large and small across the globe, including prestigious venues such as London's iconic Drumsheds warehouse, Berghain / Panorama bar, Glastonbury Festival, Fabric, Warehouse project. In 2024 he supported Overmono on their UK tour before completing his own debut tours of Asia and most recently Australia in early 2025. 

Rob is a seasoned music head, obsessive record collector and previously a resident at London’s NTS Radio for over 10 years before joining Rinse FM in the Summer of 2024. His gold mine of archive mixes, not limited by genre or style, features a host of forward thinking UK artists and showcases a deep knowledge & understanding of the history of electronic music.

Specifically he is known for his extensive knowledge of UK sound system culture, 90’s - 00’s House music, UKG, Drum & Bass and eclectic back to back sets with long time friend Joy Orbison. After starting his musical journey at the tender age of 14 it can be said Rob is a ‘selector’ in the truest definition of the word and a genuine servant to the music he loves.

In 2024 Rob launched the label FLDIN2 to specifically showcase his own razor sharp dance floor focused productions. With the first three singles ‘Billa’, ‘Bottomless Brunch’ and ‘Lotion’ being widely acclaimed by heavy hitting artists such as Bicep, Overmono, Four Tet, Ben UFO, Bakey, George Fitzgerald plus club goers and bedroom DJ’s alike.

In 2025 Rob is lined up to play at Warehouse Project, Glastonbury Festival alongside Joy O + a debut at the infamous Open ground Club in Wuppertal Germany. As well as hugely anticipated releases scheduled for Dr Dubplates EC2A, Rinse FM's main label and the debut release on the new Rinse FM sub label Ingram
