Brighton-based Night House blend electronic beats, orchestral arrangements and lyric-driven songwriting, drawing from a wide range of influences such as the electronic work of James Blake and Radiohead and the folk harmonies of Sufjan Stevens, Joni Mitchell, and Bon Iver. 

This year Night House release their debut album “Everyone is Watching from Afar” which was co-produced and mixed by  Dan Brown (Massive Attack, Jerry Williams, Luca). Written during a period of family bereavement the record's personal lyrics drift over warm strings and clarinets, where layered vocal harmonies meet icy synthesizers and electronic beats. The album features performances from a range of Brighton artists, including the lead vocals and harp of acclaimed songwriter Ellie Ford on “The Roots in the Wires” (a song influences by the events of the refugee crisis). Night House released the first single UNFOLD on the 1st of March via Back in The Woods Records.

Night House have had the pleasure of supporting many artists including Ben Howard, Willy Mason, Krystle Warren and The Magic Numbers. Road testing the material for “Everyone is watching from afar” took the band on four european tours, including headline shows upstairs at Ronnie Scots Jazz club, sell out home town shows at Brighton’s St Nicholas and Unitarian churches. Festivals appearances include at The Great Escape, The Isle of Wight and Y-Not. 

Night House's live performances see singer and multi-instrumentalist Nick Williams moving between fender rhodes, synthesisers, drum machines, mandolin and acoustic guitar. He's backed by the layered strings of Alfie Weedon on double bass and Amy Squirrell on cello.

Family Fiction is George McCanna, Dave Harding, Alex Cockburn and Jack Greenwood.

The band, based in Brighton, was formed in 2014 where they quickly became part of the Brighton music family ‘Folklore’. Described as a folk inspired ’transatlantic-indie’. Having gained early support from BBC introducing and Radio X , the band have enjoyed 4 self-released singles and a 5 track E.P available on all digital platforms and plan to release their debut album later this year.

With lyrics deeply rooted in an unconvinced upbringing, personal demons and holy fables can be extracted throughout.

Yazmyn Hendrix, London-born loop artist, layers powerfully enchanting vocals, lush harmonies, haunting voice effects and gentle beatboxing. She makes her music in the now - carving something from nothing and making time stand still five minutes at a time. She’s an experimental multi-genre singer and songwriter who writes simple songs about complex things; love, life, reality and dreams. Yazmyn is synaesthetic, meaning she associates each song, each word and each instrument with colours and textures; this gives her an original perspective when writing and performing. In her own words, “Sometimes I find myself begging for my inner self to stay strong and guide me; this outer physical world can be so distracting from the truth we already have within. I see music as the channelling of a higher power that connects us all.”
