We are proud to present the latest single from Turbo Recordings Executive Honcho Tiga. Produced in collaboration with Hudson Mohawke, “Easy” is a massive ode to passive-aggressive income, featuring the only anthemic chorus imaginable under the yoke of The Global Crypto Web3 Gratitude Community Empire.

“No one wants to work their body anymore,” says the Montreal merrymaker from atop a throne in the exact shape of a digital wallet. “I get it. Who wants their surplus sweat equity vacuumed up off the dance floor by corporate parasites when the real future’s in decentralized skanking? But that’s why people in my position - the top one-percent in terms of nightlife and hospitality take-home pay - have to offer real benefits to risking it all in the clubs. I’m talking dance-move insurance, competitive drink ticket packages, and - most of all - the kind of brick-and-mortar bangers Rhythm Nation was founded upon back in 1814."

The single also features B-side “There Is No Distance Between Us,” whose title was secured following an acrimonious legal battle with Bette Midler.

"I’ve designed my entire life around the concept of ease,” adds Tiga. "I never wanted to work for a law firm. I wanted to make beats for a law firm. I’ve always been self-employed, and that why my street cred’s off the street charts. And I’ve let as much of that freedom trickle down to the audience as I can. Because when it comes to music, there’s no such thing as an acceptable minimum wage. You gotta know that you gotta give it all you got, or you’re gonna get got.”

A self-proclaimed 303-addict, LA-native @TheeMikeB turns in this set of raw acid, featuring a collab with Oliver Dollar and remixes by Sage Caswell, Madame and newcomer TRACE7000.

Mike has been involved in underground music since the 90's, a founding member of the legendary Banana Split party with DJ AM and Steve Aoki, Mike has also remixed and produced records with Diplo, Switch, Stretch Armstrong, Sinden, Jesse Rose, Oliver $, Sammy Bananas, Oliver and many more, featured on releases with labels such as Mad Decent, Fool's Gold, Play It Down, Dim Mak and Yoruba.

Lead track Tree House Acid sounds most at home on Turbo, reminiscent of prime Jesper Dahlback. Late At Night featuring Oliver $ is a classic-sounding slice of fat Chicago, while Let Her Back In, takes the narrative into trippier, psycho-loopy territory.

Storming remixes come courtesy of Sage Caswell, who stripped things down to raw techno, new Turbo signing TRACE7000, whose mix is a chunky late-night euro-bomb, and BNR pal Madame who brought in some tough electro power.

A bastion of magnetic style and mixing board finesse, Honey Dijon continues to exceed her bounds, pushing through from the underground of New York to become a cultural, global star. Her Classic follow-up to ‘Houze’ with Seven Davis Jnr, the provocative ‘Personal Slave’ is unapologetic, hedonist and achingly cool.

Honey has teamed up with Charles Duff aka Charles McCloud, who lends his seductively sulky tones for the vocal on the record. Murky and mechanical, cowbell ‘dinks’ and a percussive breakdown lift the mood, keeping the tracks’ feet firmly in the ‘house’ bracket. Consistently, Honey’s productions piece together her familiar Chicago jack with a contemporary New York edge. This track goes further in exploring that hybrid style, delivered with Honey’s signature lushness.

A strong force in the US techno scene under his Matrixxman moniker, Charles Duff appears again for remix duties on the ‘Dungeon Dub’, which as the name suggests is profoundly dark and moody, resonating highly with his regular slots at Berghain. The ‘Drum Machine Mix’ hones in on the percussive work, playing with a visceral, hypnotic vibe that is so potent it’s almost dangerous. If this release is any indication of Honey’s intentions for this year, 2017 will see Honey continue her ascension as a music icon.

Something is brewing in Southern California and we were able to get an early taste. A new imprint called Room Temp Recs is dropping an 11-track compilation featuring the likes of Justin Jay, Kovaxx, Josh Brown and more. In celebration of the release, Room Temp has decided to share one of the tracks with us — Justin Jay’s “I Have Trouble Falling Asleep Sometimes”.

The track is in the style of Justin’s earlier works, reminiscent of West Coast 90s rap. With splashy claps and distinctive sine wave leads laid over soothing pads, Justin crafts a beat that perfectly encapsulates its title, invoking a feeling of nostalgic insomnia. 

Room Temp Recs is the brainchild of West Coast born-and-bred producers, Fritz Carlton, Ghostea, Kevin Anderson, Lubelski, and Rybo. The compilation is titled Melting Pot Volume 1 and as its name suggests is an eclectic mixture of House music from around the world, featuring artists from not only CA, but from Sweden, UK, and Australia as well. The release will be made available to purchase or free download on June 23rd.

Premiere: Justin Jay - I Have Trouble Falling Asleep Sometimes [Room Temperature Records]

Imagine a time when the DJ mix you proudly played for your friends came from the trunk of a car instead of a website and the best places to see live shows consisted of inner city warehouses and midwest farm fields.

The idea of the Legends EP series first came to our label boss Matthew Anthony on the road from Los Angeles to Yosemite National Forrest in California's Sierra Nevada mountains, one of his favorite places to explore and recharge. He’d spent the previous years working on various music projects while becoming friends and discussing song ideas with respected artists like Bad Boy Bill and DJ Godfather. On that trip it dawned on him that the various dance music scenes might benefit by pausing to reflect on some of the many we now consider to be legends.

With the end goal being two songs, each produced collaboratively by himself and an artist he regards as a pioneer, humbly, both Bad Boy Bill and DJ Godfather accepted Matthew’s invitation to the inaugural volume of The Legends EP. Turntablism.

Volume 1, Part 1 in our series pays respect to the art of Turntablism and how it played a role in Chicago and Detroit's evolution of House and Techno which in turn influenced the world. This EP travels back to the late 80's and 90's where Bad Boy Bill’s spinning on four separate decks at once and DJ Godfather's scratching over Ghetto Tech, the genre he invented, saw no equals. The songs produced for us in this series are modern interpretations of windows to the past where the artists pay homage to the DJ and that original era where sync buttons weren't invented and the only way to get an acapella was a lucky day at your favorite record store.

Some birds fly South for the winter, especially with this cold snap going on right now! After three unbelievable years of the Dirtybird Campout at our West Coast home, we’re taking the show to Florida with our biggest lineup yet.

For the cross-country journey, we packed 8 brand new tracks in the Dirtybird Campout East Coast Compilation from several of the artists that will be playing the Birdhouse stage during the weekend.

The compilation leads off with a cover of the classic Brazilian internet meme by MP4 in 2000, “Books Is On The Table”, most recently covered by Marshall Applewhite. This bumpy new cover takes us back to Brazil - Home of Bruno Furlan with help from Claude VonStroke on the production.. Nick Monaco gives us some “Drama”, and we welcome Justin Jay back with his bouncy single “Oi Oi Oiiii”. Maximono’s “No Joke” is literally that, and BOT reminds us that “Different is Beautiful”. Vangelis Kostoxenakis provides the “Monkey Business”, and Dateless and his brother Lucati show us it’s all about “Team Work”. Dimiz & Baley’s “Raw Motion” was the track Claude dropped during the Family Set, and we couldn’t wait any longer to get this heater out.
