This summer sees the very timely arrival of a brand new record label from the Wah Wah 45s family. Allison Recordings further explores the world of electronic music, showcasing up-and-coming producers and music makers, as well as artists that have been on the Wah Wah radar for a number of years. Allison leans towards the dance floor of course, but isn’t your average club music record label.. Whilst this imprint was set up to represent a more electronic output, the soulful DNA of Wah Wah 45s still shines through.

The debut compilation, Sun After Rain, can hopefully provide something of a soundtrack to more optimistic times. The ten artists, providing eleven tracks in all, come together from across the UK from London to Liverpool via Birmingham, Brighton and beyond - from Bangkok to Berlin and Cologne to Amsterdam.

From Brighton to Berlin, and a name that might be familiar to fans of Wah Wah 45s. Having provided a stunning remix for Cinematic Orchestra bass player Hunrosa, and contributed a club friendly re-edit 12” to the label’s Dubplate series, Lavan was one of the first names on the Allison Recordings list. And so naturally, Out 4 Da Gusto, his optimistic and foot friendly contribution to the compilation, was also the first single to be taken from it. We look forward to more sonic joy from this rising star in the coming months too.

This highly sought after version of Low Tension originally released on the 'La Ronde' EP on BPM Records Japan in 1991, has been remastered for single release for the first time. Also features a stripped back rework by cult Japanese producer Yukihiro Fukutomi and Alexander Bradley himself with an extended deep, dubby and melodic Utopian mix. The mythical deep house works of Japanese producers such as Nagayama and Terada have become folklore with the latter's production for Nami Shimada entitled 'Sunshower' (featuring Larry Levan mix) his most recognized work. Sound Of Vast welcome Shinichiro Yokota and The Mole as the two producers combine to reveal the second installment in the label’s 5 Year Anniversary series.

As Sound Of Vast mark their five year anniversary this year, the label will offer up five special various artist packages across 2019 limited to just 250 copies each, featuring material from the likes of Vid, Cinthie, San Proper, Akiko Kiyama, Com Sin aka Cosmin TRG, Subb-an and more across the year ahead. Up next, Tokyo’s Shinichiro Yokota and Canadian artist The Mole each offer up two solo cuts to mark the labels second release in the five-part series.

Tokyo-based Far East Recording artist Shinichiro Yokota opens the ‘5 Years Anniversary Series 02’ with ‘I Know You Like’ a harkening back to the days of soulful, musical house courtesy of jazzy synth lines, warm chords and choppy bass running alongside a swinging drum groove and vocal hooks uttering the track’s title.
