Continuing in the 25th Anniversary celebrations, the next drop sees Brazilian hotshot L-Side step up for his debut CIA Records release. 
The increasingly prolific producer has been on a warpath over the last few years, writing killer tracks at an alarming rate to entrench his name on the drum & bass landscape. 
Setting off the release is a remix of Total Science’s tech layered 2018 track ‘Fallen Angels’, as L-Side captures all the technical groove and old skool snippets from the original, whilst imprinting his own signature stamp. Dialing up the levels on all sides, but still retaining that essential swing and groove, the rework brings the track right into 2021; perfectly primed for soon to be opened dancefloors. 
‘Untouchable’ follows on from the remix; an original production from L-Side that is quintessential CIA, with an infectious vibe that instantly feels at home with the label’s pioneering sound. Haunting chords and sweeping synths are kept in check by tantalizing percussion and above all, a murmuring, chest shaking bassline that is constantly moving, scoping and delving.   Making his mark on the label, L-Side delivers something special to cap off a fearsome first foray.

“Compilation albums have a special place in my heart and to mark our birthday year I really wanted to release a project that was distinctive and exciting. An album that showcases the diversity of the label, the talents of the many artists we work with and ties together the threads and themes the producers explore.

The 22 exclusive tracks here are a perfect snapshot of the sound that Critical is wanting to be at the forefront of : Underground drum and bass in many different forms but always with that cutting edge.

The physical album is a strictly limited edition 6 piece vinyl box set with artwork designed by Steiner Grafik. The box itself is beautiful with silver ink printed on both the inside and outer shell, the records are pressed on 120gsm virgin vinyl and the 6th plate has a special etching to commemorate the birthday.

We have a deluxe version too which is limited to 100 copies. This includes the album box , a special aluminium print of the artwork, a signed poster, a multi page fanzine designed by Studio Yasseen Faik, stickers and a slipmat. (update: Deluxe box sets have now sold out)
