Hospital Records’ newest signed artist, and former Women In Drum & Bass mentee, Anaïs has been taking the world of dance music by storm with her futuristic production and energetic DJ sets. A true trailblazer of the new-gen drum & bass circuit, she has stepped up to the plate to curate the next edition of the ‘Hospital Mixtape’ series, featuring 17 fresh cuts highlighting an impeccable array of future talent across the D&B spectrum. Following on from the successes of Lens’ Hospital Mixtape which dropped in 2022 and was home to heaters including Watch The Ride’s ‘READY4DEM’ featuring Emz and the Fade Black remix of Camo & Krooked’s ‘Loa’, the levels have been upped once again.

Dive in to the jungle-infused sounds of Anaïs x DRIIA’s ‘Round To Ya Speaker’ where you’ll find sizzling basslines, crisp breaks, and DRIIA’s sensual toplines. Boasting a back catalogue revelled by the heads of the underground, DRIIA is a frequent name on the airwaves with consistent support from the likes of Radio 1’s Danny Howard, Jess Iszatt and Jaguar, as well as hosting her very own weekly Reprezent show.

Hoax and PVC set the levels on ‘Sekkle’, a rough and ready low-end rumbler with earth-shattering basslines and infectious vocal flows. Bristol-based Hoax with a history of releases on imprints including Onyx and Pick ‘N’ Mix teams up with PVC who has an impressive slew of collaborations under his belt alongside dance music legends including Flava D, Royal T, DJ Q, Dirty Palm & more…

Dutch D&B duo NCT come through with a grade A 174BPM dancefloor energiser on ‘Don’t Need U’. Having released on Hospital before with ‘Closure (feat. Anna-Eva)’ on the ‘Future Sound of Holland’ VA EP in 2016, NCT have been keeping more than busy since then with a steady stream of big-hitters across labels such as Liquicity, Elevate and NCS to name a few.

Teaming up with Hugh Hardie and two of Manchester’s finest - Slay and T-Man, ‘Headshot’ is a relentless drum & bass bubbler infused with gritty basslines and raw vocal energy. With Slay’s recent single ‘Closer’ alongside Bou currently peaking at #27 in the Official Charts, and T-Man being no stranger to laying down his ferocious bars on staple anthems such as ‘All Goes Wrong’ with Kanine and ‘Under Pressure’ with Alix Perez, Anaïs and Hugh Hardie laid down the perfect instrumental on this soundsystem shaker which is already taking dancefloors by storm. 

Anaïs boasts recent successes following collaborations with the likes of Flowdan, Champion DI, Sudley and more. Her highly sought-after debut standalone single on Hospital ‘want u’ is landed  23rd of June, and has been taking dancefloors and airwaves alike by storm. “At last, you arrive” echoed the thunderous voice that seemed to originate from the body of the temple itself. “You have displayed power, spirit, strength, and soul in getting this far, but should you wish to gain access to the hidden knowledge of this great temple, you must now face the final trial which bears no name. Precious few have reached this point, and what remains of them is now scattered across the four winds that rake at this mountain peak. Prepare yourself, adventurer, for the final trial is me.”

In reflexive response to these resounding words, the adventurer steeled themselves and braced for the impact that was sure to follow. But none such occurred, and the only assault on the adventurer’s defenses was that of unexpected silence that stung at their nerves. Still on guard, they dwelled deeper within the silence, peering into its misty recesses. There, obscured by the gusts which grazed this mountaintop, yes, there was something. The faintest sound of flesh on stone, moving slowly through the cool mountain air. Yet no creature lay before them.

Then came the shattering, a sound of incomprehensible magnitude that shot the adventurer into motion. The stone courtyard splintered before them, driving jagged shards of stone like knives beneath the adventurers feet. With a powerful leap the adventurer shot into the air, remaining suspended in levitation, a technique they had learned within the previous trial. Below them, the mountain continued to crumble and the temple fell away, revealing a magnificent serpentine form in a shower of boulders and stone slabs. Rising from the body of the mountain itself was a massive dragon, unlike any the adventurer had heard tell of even within the tales of old, and upon its head stood a shadowy form, an equal to the aura of the adventurer’s own light.

“I have kept the knowledge of this temple for thousands of years” came the voice once more, sharpened by its exposure to the alpine atmosphere. “I will not have some impudent fool steal it from me”. The great dragon reared back at its rider's command, and the adventurer concentrated their energy into a great spectral claw to match. There, the adventurer understood. Win or lose, they had gained the knowledge of the temple that they sought. This they knew in their core as they drew in to prepare a great gout of flame that would match the great dragons own.
