Hoarse, tormented vocals repeat again and again, setting the tone for the entire track. The addition of a sinister, shrill hook pushes the tune over the top - a continuing melodic element taking the tune into a new dimension of terror. Jade breaks things down before raising the pressure to full levels with a dirty bassline riff, roughneck drum programming, and expert bassline acrobatics in between each phrase. Freqax ( short for frequency axe) is a music production project conceived in 2008 by Adrenalina and Weirdo and created by their passion for similar styles not only in their collaborated music production but also in their many b2b sets they performed.

Pushing their music via their vast minds of years of knowledge and experience of other genres.

Since 2012 Adrenalina decided to leave the project due to personal matters leaving Weirdo as the only outstanding member.

Freqax has gone from strength to strength with his productions being a regular in many top players playlists and also released on labels such as PRSPCT & Yellow Stripe just to name a few. This has brought him to play round the world alongside some of the scenes biggest names.

His most recent album release with Othercide is full of colabs and showcases the artists talent to his full potential.

It only seemed fitting to bring him in to remix one of our favourite tunes from our back catalogue here at Druid!

Under the restless blanket of a heartless night, the sculptor shifted uneasily in his atelier sleeping quarter. Slumber evaded him, every hallucination of momentary solace chased quickly into the shadows of his disquiet. Tormented by the weight of his task, to surpass the greatest creators of the past and deliver to their dynasty an icon to strike fear and awe into the hearts of the proletariat… In the depths of that darkness his mind cried out to every conceivable higher entity, light and dark – begging for the inspiration that would save him. With the encroachment of dawn, tiredness washed over him… pulling his flayed mind into a shallow sea of morbid sleep. A torrent of nightmares flooded him - visions of an amorphous entity clawing at birthing sack, a hideous soul struggling for its freedom. He awoke with a choking gasp... adrenaline flowing. Something glinted dully upon his bedside in the morning light – the razor edge of a sculptor’s blade. Picking it up and looking closely at its sharp form, covered in an obscure script. He was certain it wasn’t there in the night, it certainly wasn’t one of his… He rose from bed, moving over to the head-shaped block of clay that had awaited his touch for too long. With precision he swiftly scraped deep into the featureless façade. Gasping suddenly, he staggered back, dropping the infernal tool in horror - fear seared deep into his eyes… the clay had reacted, drawing away from the blades edge as if it was living tissue, a trickle of blood seeping out of the fresh wound. The barely shaped head was moving… writhing as if in pain, as if it couldn’t breathe – as if there was something trapped inside... He quickly picked up the blade, cutting again and again, freeing its twisted and tortured mouth, slicing away the substance piece by piece, uncovering the flesh beneath… freeing anguish-filled, bloodshot eyes that flicked around in perpetual terror. Stepping back… he looked with mouth aghast at the vision that confronted him – the head twisting to free itself from his sculptor’s block, a vision of suffering, the deep pain of reality flooding into his creation’s soul.

This Ep was created to bring human emotions to a state of euphoria that elevates individual morale to a higher level. Inspired by the "WAVERS" of the WAVE party, that is the audience for which I compose all my music, and the Drum & Bass of 2010 with which I grew up and developed a love for this musical genre.   

The name Soma is inspired by the fictional drug from Aldous Huxley's book "Brave New World". Soma is a music producer and DJ of Bassmusic, also organizer of the WAVE BASS RAVE party cycle in the capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires, this being one of the most important events of the genre in the country.

Forbidden Society has gone from being both a DJ and producer, to manufacturing a platform for his brand which stretches further than his base of Czech Republic. 

Forbidden Society has never bowed down to commercial pressure and as a result, has amassed a formidable reputation and a fan base to match. His output through his self-titled imprint and clothing line has highlighted this and his sonic divesity. 
The prime example being his debut self-released LP ‘Fog Walk’. Moving itself away from the hardcore vigor of his usual work, it covered twelve brand new editions to his already intimidating catalogue of work. The ‘Dead Box’ EP followed in quick succession, also revealed on Forbidden Society and standing as another monumental part of 2019. 
Despite being firmly rooted within drum & bass, these two bodies of work spanned his inspirations across electro, techno and punk music, something which were mirrored through his ‘Subworld’ EP on Noisia’s Vision Recordings – also releasing there again with his Audio collaboration ‘Iris’.

In more recent times, he featured as part of Killbox’s album on RAM Records with ‘Transistor’. Also returning to Vision with solo EP ‘Subworld, as well as taking part in their ‘Mission Compilation, his reworks for its label heads Noisia on ‘Exodus’ and ‘Moving For You’ (ft. I Am Legion) built on his longstanding relationship with the trio. This has only helped to thrust him even further into the spotlight. 

As well as his self-released ‘Liminal Point’ and ‘No Return’ LPs, he’s continued to set a standard, whilst exploring the likes of garage, techno and half time too. From Paris to Amsterdam, through to Columbia and Japan, Forbidden Society has brought his explosive presence to a global stage too. Standing as the first Czech producer to be booked for the legendary Pirate Station in Russia, he’s still breaking the paradigms within his creative process and in doing so, has engineered a space which has ensured both his longevity and international success.
