Mikal returns for his second release on FORCE Recordings after a string of MONSTER hits on Metal Headz, Shogun, Soundtrax & Stepping Forward - FOUNDATION & DIMENSION are up-front PURE Drum & Bass!

Continuing to expand on his dynamic library of songs, "Foundation" is an immaculately produced, Jungle influenced DnB jam delivering that oldschool vibe in a newschool way. Stout drum rhythms under laidback basslines and the always perfect 'bleeps' combine with the main vocal hook describing the 'responsibility of the drums'. It's this melding of the elements sealing the track together like thunder and lightning that makes "Foundation" sure fire in the mix and on the floor!

On the flip, Dimension starts its momentum quickly with luring uses of reverb and technical drum fills accenting each new movement of the tune. Mikal, unwilling to do a one and done, really shines on the B-Cut here - leading you through dense sonic territory and basslines that echo in your mind long after the song has ended.

DLX enters the force arena with his debut release and it's simply madness! A scene mainstay in his Western NC home, a regular with the SMOG Crew / label in LA, and a Producer / DJ with more turntable miles under his belt than many. Over the years this man has carved out a unique style in the Drum ; Bass and Dubstep landscape. And it's that unique sound that pulled Force label owner Clearwater / A1-Voodoo and DLX together while both living in Asheville NC.

Bringing one of the most in your face productions of the past few years to the dance-floor, 'In My Zone' is a stomping tour de force of triplet bashment that betray's it's 165bpm speed. Mix equal parts Jungle breaks, Footwork patterns and his always impressive production and you get a monster of a track that grabs ANY room by the shoulders and doesn't let go for one second end to end!

On the flip 'Fire Place' takes the wide 808 bass sensibility of the title cut and adds in a little swing, a little looseness and scatters some squirrely Think ; Amen breaks to create a swirling romp of a DnB tune. It's breaky and funky and gritty and warm all in one!

Acid_Lab is a prolific producer that’s been causing a stir in the Jungle and Drum & Bass world the past few years. His sound is so carefully tuned into the texture and style of the golden era it wouldn’t be a stretch to think he’s an old head using a new alias to spice things up! All of this, of course, is a huge appreciation for the man’s skills in the studio. Label boss A1-Voodoo welcomes his debut to FORCE with a stunning pair of songs featuring a callback to both the 90’s and 2000 eras in the form of ‘Say Amen’ and ‘Relentless’.

‘Say Amen’ is a slowed down 165bpm number that sits right in the pocket for what an Amen track should be. Saturating bass that vibrates for ages and winds the waist, alongside complex drums that excite the mind and force the feet onto the dance-floor. There’s a tinge of darkness here, but only a whiff… just enough to let you know something real is approaching and you need to cue into it. This is a constant in Acid_Lab’s works, a solid consistent level of quality that deeply knowledgeable lovers of Jungle and Drum & Bass can count on.

Switching over to the flip with ‘Relentless’, the clock moves forward a bit into the early 2000’s styles championed by Dylan, Loxy and Digital. It has a been a long time since these paths have been wandered, and for the new heads it’s a breath of fresh air on sounds that stalk through the speakers and burrow into your head. This time around its ALL about the B-Line and the Stabs. This is bass-face head nodder territory from start to end!

In the words of legendary label owner and producer, Andy Odysee of Odysee Recordings (Source Direct, Odysee, Circuit-Breaker), Past Gift, is a “beautifully crafted bit of hefty Deep Amen business”. No other words could better describe the title track from this debut release by SenseNet. 

Although she’s a new producer in the Drum ‘n Bass scene, her musical roots go back decades as a classically trained pianist who has dabbled in a variety of musical instruments and genres. With Past Gift and Purple, she wanted to pay homage to the rich history of DNB with the classic Amen Break.Her penchant for finding samples and telling stories, combined with her musical sensibility leads to two tracks that will not only give you that heavy bass punch, but will also move you emotionally with beautiful melodic breaks and undertones reminiscent of the intelligent days of Jungle. 

After playing music nearly all her life, this album not only marks a lifetime of that passion, but marks the beginning of a new stage in her musical career now as a producer.
