Foresight began in 1995 when a group of friends decided to take on the Friday night slot in a small club underneath an Indian restaurant in Paisley.The venue was already well recognised thanks to the very successful Club 69 which was run by rubadub on the Saturday night.Foresight quickly grew a following of its own until every night was packed.Each night followed the same format of beginning with down tempo beats, hip hop or electro, moving into drum and bass, then into house and finishing off with the finest quality techno.The formula worked and the DJs rotated every week, so each night always had a different feel, sometimes deep, dark and moody, sometimes more uplifting, but always with a focus on good quality music. As Foresight became well known, the DJs were regularly asked to play at parties and clubs throughout the Glasgow area, but also all over Scotland and in England.The club ran on a non-profit basis, with the DJs just taking enough money from the door to pay for drinks on the night and some more records for next week.We used the money raised to put on free parties in places like Arran, an island off the south west coast of Scotland.Fifteen years on, the club has only fairly recently come to an end.
